Darry’s P.O.V…

Dallas looked at me with an expression of such hopelessness and he didn’t even look the same. He needed to shave and he had circles under his eyes and his eyes were just blank with no clear emotion except hopelessness. “Oh, Dallas, I’m so sorry that we are going through this.” I said.

“Why is she leaving me?” He asked.

“She isn’t leaving you Dallas, she will be fine, and she’ll pull through.” He said.

“I can’t handle this anymore, I’m going fucking insane!” He yelled and clenched Summer’s hand so tightly. A nurse walked in and smiled at us all.

“I need to change her bag of meds.” She said.

“When will she wake up?” Dallas asked.

“I don’t know, Dallas go home, get something to drink and eat and relax.” She ordered.

“No.” He said.

“We need to run some more tests and stuff, everybody out of here; she’ll be done within an hour or so.” She said. We all walked over to the waiting area and Dallas just stared off into the distance.

“She’s barely hanging on.” He finally said shaking his head. Nikki began crying and Dallas looked over to her and he shrugged.

“Hold her Dallas, please.” Copper pleaded with tears in her eyes.

“Fine.” He said and she handed him Nikki and she settled down. He looked at her with awe and he let out a deep breath.

Dallas’ P.O.V…

Nikki looked like Summer way too much and it just made me feel more emotionless than ever. I held her in my arms and she looked up at me with confusion in her eyes. I couldn’t speak because I felt empty. I held Nikki for what seemed like forever and I was clinging to the little piece of Summer I had left. And I knew I wasn’t losing it anymore, I was in denial of what was happening, kind of like how I have been for my whole life.

Soda’s P.O.V…

Another lump in my throat formed as I watched Dallas hold Nikki with no emotion, he was worse off than any of us were. I heard sharp defined footsteps coming down an empty hall. A female doctor came into view and her eyes were bloodshot. “Boys, I have some news.” She said.

“What’s up?” Darry asked, standing up.

“Well, there is a small chance that she will make it but we put her on meds that will wake her up within the next hour or so. I really do hope she’ll wake up.” She said and I felt defeated, those were the words I needed to hear, she’s probably not make it. I handed Nikki back to Copper and I walked out of the room.

“Dallas, don’t go, you don’t know yet!” Copper cried.

“Well, I have one thing to do before I do anything stupid, meet me at the bar in an hour and tell me if she’s ok.” I said and started jogging away. I went to Buck’s hoping that Tim would be there, my wish was granted as my eyes landed on Tim. “Shepard, come over here.” I ordered.

“Hey, Winston, I saved you a broad.” He said and I closed my eyes and tried to control my anger.

“I don’t want a fucking broad; you’re going to fucking pay for what you did to Summer.” I said and began choking him and he turned beat red.
