"You did what!?" Ratchet snarled into the comm. The lime green medic was already on the road with Optimus when they recieved word. They automatically did a U-turn and began heading toward his position.
::Came outta no where! Luckily they're still alive!:: Ironhide huffed.
"Do you have enough energy to project a holoform?" Optimus spoke up.
::None. Couldn't transform to help them if I wanted to. Busted up my front real bad.:: Ironhide mumbled in disappointment. Ratchet heaved a sigh.
"We're heading there now. Optimus, I'll most likely need your assistance in helping the humans out of the vechile. Once that's done take Ironhide back to base. I'll transport the humans to a nearby hospital." Ratchet informed sternly.
"Anything to help, old friend." Optimus agreed. The comm link closed. The two elder mechs raced forward.
...
Ironhide grew weary as he heard sirens in the distance. He wasn't quite sure if it was Barricade, Ratchet, or human police. Ironhide shifted on his axel. He would just have to have faith it was Ratchet. Ratchet tended to get to emergencies pretty fast so it eased his doubt. Ironhides engine sputtered in pure frustration. He hated feeling so helpess. Even his sensitive Cybertronian hearing was useless. He couldn't even pinpoint where they were coming from! Ironhide heaved a heavy sigh and tried not to move too much. Being in an accident already brought enough attention. Hopefully no humans would check his drivers side. Ironhide huffed. Hope. He was never good on relying on such. Ironhide only charged his way through based on instinct. Instinct. Ironhide almost wanted to smirk in a almost bragging way. Pit, he was so good at it he could even pick up a Decepticons energon. That made him stop for a moment, though. If he could pick up decepticon energon then it must not be Barricade heading his way to finish the job. He didn't pick up anything. Ironhide wanted to groan. Humans. At least the humans in the ditch would be safe. However, Ironhide didn't think he could escape a lecture from not Optimus, not Ratchet, but Galloway. He was pretty sure Galloway was the main reason he...put up with humans. Lennox liked to say he even put some respect in there. Ironhide liked to think it as...'avoiding-another-respecting-human-lecture-from-Optimus'. Ironhide grumbled as his suspicions were correct. Ironhide forced himself to bring any energy into his holoform. His systems strained as he pushed his limits. Frag I shouldn't be doing this he thought to himself. But he did so anyway as his insides screamed.
...
Ratchet cursed as he pulled along side Ironhide and activated his holoform. He saw Ironhides holoform kneeling against his truck surrounded by human police and medics. Optimus followed behind him.
"Get Ironhide. I'll take care of the humans." Ratchet demanded as he jogged to the black vechile that held the unconcious humans. He ripped the door open with little effort and tore the seatbelt away. Ratchets arm slid under the female and he grunted as he ran to the back of his alt form. The doors opened at his presence and he climbed in. He set her down and strapped her in. Ratchet jumped back down with a grunt as he went to retrieve the other. A human medic rose his eyebrows and stalked over to Ratchet as he took the small boy in his arms. Ratchet turned and saw the human medic in his way. Ratchets holoform narrowed his eyes.
"Move. He needs immediate medical attention." He snapped. His eyes wandered down to the name tag threaded on his uniform. Duke."You took the door off...how?" He asked. Ratchet cursed under his breath. He noticed. Ratchet wasn't sure if he would care or not later but he knew he was in medic mode right now and all else did not matter.
"That doesn't concern you. We don't have time to chat, now move!" Ratchet snarled as he shoved past him. Duke furrowed his eyebrows as he watched him go then jogged after him.
"You're...putting two in the same ambulance?" Duke frowned. Ratchet slammed the door.
"Yes. Have a problem?" He questioned bitterly. Duke crossed his arms.
"That's just uncommon cause we have another ambulance over there an-."
"Stop. Just talking to you is wasting precious time. And moving one of these patients to another vechile will waste even more." Ratchet said as he walked to the drivers.
"Hey! You can't do that!" Someone shouted. The two medics looked toward the source and found a police officer yelling at Optimus. Optimus blinked.
"He is one of my comrades. It is alright if-."
"No. It's not. He needs to head to the hospital this instant and after that he needs a slip from me cause he will be in court with fines against those two passengers." The officer spoke sharply as he poked his finger and Optimus's chest.
"We will take care of that as soon as possible. Now we must leave." Optimus said as he finished clipping as hook in place on Ironhides alt. The alt was strapped to his back and he went around to the drivers. Ironhide closed the door in the passenger side and Optimus started his engine. Ratchet heaved himself inside and closed the door. Duke began protesting but Ratchet started his engine and the mechs were on their way. The chief officer took off his hat in irritation and threw it at the ground. He began stomping on it and the other officers watched in horror.
...
Ratchet sped down the road and tried to drive as gentle as possible with the two younglings in the back, unconscious. Optimus had turned off the road long ago and it was just up to Ratchet. Ratchet could see that his patients had heart rates that were decreasing. He cursed. He didn't think they'd make it on time. Especially the little one. His body was still so fragile. Ratchet grumbled at his own thoughts and ideas of how he could get their faster or how he could even help the two. Most EMTs didn't save most lives when driving a patient to the hospital and considering he didn't even had a paramedic in the back working...the odds didn't look good for them nor him. Ratchet sighed. There was only one option. He'd have to take this emergency into his own hands.
