"My word, Red. Are you ready?" I asked wrapping a knitted blue scarf around my neck. Today was the day Red took off work for a day with me. How sweet of him!
I glanced up the stairs and see him walking down the stairs, one arm in his black jacket he's wearing. "I'm here, your majesty." he said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes. "Don't make me angry, darling." I winked. His eyes widened and held his hands up as if he surrendered. "I'm sorry!" he bowed. I punched his shoulder. "Let's just go."
And put the door we went.
10 minutes later
"Where are we?" I asked. Red smiled. "You'll see."We were driving to what seemed like ages. Until I finally started recognizing things. "Why are we going here." I looked at him and grinned. "I felt like we needed to go here. It's been awhile."
We parked on the edge of the woods. These woods, led to the lake. The lake near the place I've wanted to live. Where Red proposed, in that small gazebo near the lake. It gave me shivers up my spine thinking about it.
"Why are we here?" I whispered. Red stretched his arms out and placed his hand on my shoulder. "You'll see." he grinned.
We shouldered our way through the shrubbery, snow spitting from the sky once and awhile. 'Sky..' I thought. Adam. How was he? I haven't seen him in awhile. He hasn't been himself lately. I'll check on him later I suppose.
He made it through the trees and made it to the lake. My eyes first landed on the gazebo, the snow had made it a lot whiter and less noticeable.
Red smiled at me as I looked around. "It's been awhile since we've been here, hasn't it?" he asked softly. I nodded. It was more beautiful then it was in the summer weather.
Red sat on the snowy ground and he motioned me to sit next to him. I slowly sat next to him. He pointed to the space across the lake. "One day," he whispered, "we will have a gorgeous house there. To begin something new..to start..a family." he looked down at me. "Wouldn't you like that?" he smiled.
I held my breath for a moment. Family..future..so much planned. Am I ready when my baby comes? "Yes." I hesitated. "I am."
My head spun. What would it be like to be a mother? A good wife..role model. I still want to live my life! Be a youtuber, have fun with my friends. Was I ready for such a big change in my life?
We made small talk for the next half hour, but our eyes were gazed on the land in front of us. We finally got up and headed for the car.
Red gazed down at me. "Is everything ok?" he asked concerned. I noticed I did feel feverish from the thought of..new.. I looked up at him with a smile. "Oh yea!" I stammered. Red frowned. I felt like he was onto me. But he seemed to shrug it off. "Alright."
Later that night
We went home after that. My mind buzzed all the way home. Future..
Future..
Future..But tonight Red had big plans. I tried to guess, but he'd always deny them. Gah..I wish knew!
By now..as it always seems, we're on the road.
"Blessing..uh.." Red started. I shook my thoughts away and looked at him. "Huh?" I asked. "You look..worried."
"Huh..me?! I'm not worried. Why would you say-.."
"You haven't been yourself today..and.. you can always tell me what's wrong. I'm married to you, by the way." he chuckled. That gave me a bit of a smile. I sat back in my chair, watching the dark sky. "I've..just been a little worried about our future. It won't be the same with this one." I put my hand on my stomach. Red smiled at me. "No matter what happens, I will always be by your side."
By then, we parked. And I saw something I haven't seen in about a year..
Fireworks.
"You do know me, Red.."
"That's because I love you, Blessing."
SORRY ABOUT THE LONG WAIT. I'm finally on Christmas break and will try to post as much as possible. Merry Christmas!
