we aren't all the same
so why is the school treating us this way?

are we things that are just meant to meet certain requirements?

is there any curve or adjustment to this?

it's called common core
but it's not common sense
do you hear my cry?

i beg to you
stop this nonsense
we need to learn in different ways
by different methods
no restrictions
no requirements
just education

all these tests we have to take
all this happiness we fake
she says she got a hundred
but she feels like a c

because c is average
and i guess we're all average
if we're being taught the exact same

nevermind
i guess i'll just go and read
more about the issue
that I'm trying to preach
even though it's not in the lesson plan
i'm not a lesson plan person

i'm an individual
we're not a basic body of people
we're a complex body of unique children
starving to learn
to earn some respect
as a separate person
different from the rest
