"Luna help me move these boxes!" My mom yelled from our living room.
"Why?" I groaned pulling my bed covers over my head.
I suddenly heard my door open and my covers were ripped away from me.
"This is your house too young lady, do not test me" my mom snarled. I mumbled a "fine" and got up from my bed as she left the room. I noticed my curtains were on the floor with little claw marks on them. I rolled my eyes. Meowth I thought.
I left my room and strolled into the living room. Upon entering, my mom handed me some boxes.
"Put these in your room" she said. "When you're done you can get ready. Professor Kukui is coming over to meet you today"
I turned and struggled to open my door with no hands.
"Meowth!" I called. My mom's Pokemon came running at the sound of his name. He stopped at my heels and looked up at me curiously.
"Door please"
He nodded and jumped up to open my door and ran inside the room. He instantly went over to the Ditto plush I had sitting on the floor to scratch at it. I smiled and shook my head as I entered the room. I put down the boxes in the corner and went to hang my curtains back up. Once I fixed them, I took some clothes from one of the boxes and headed to the bathroom to get ready.
Once I was ready, I walked out of the bathroom to find my mom talking to Professor Kukui. I recognized him from our video calls and the fact that he was famous for not wearing a shirt under his lab coat. He saw me before my mom did. He smiled and waved at me. My mom then turned around to smile at me.
"Luna the Professor is here!" She said.
"I can see that," I laughed. My mom narrowed her eyes at me and I shrugged.
"Welcome to Alola!" The Professor said, gleefully.
"Thanks! I'm excited to see all the new Pokemon that live here!" I chirped.
"Oh right that reminds me, we have to go get you your very first Pokemon!"
I was practically bouncing off the walls. How exciting! My very own Pokemon? Who could resist that offer?
Professor Kukui and I said goodbye to my mom, and left my house. Professor Kukui explained that we were going to Iki town to meet the Kahuna of Melemele island and he was going to give me a Pokemon.
"What's a Kahuna?" I asked.
"It's kind of like a gym leader," Kukui began,"they take challenges from trainers taking the Island Challenge. They also kind of watch over the island. Second in command next to the Guardian Pokemon"
"So kind of like a champion?"
"Yes. Well...not really. They only watch over one island. They don't really do anything but take challenges from trainers...sorry I can't explain this better to you"
I shook my head. "It's fine. Does Alola have an actual champion like Cynthia or Red?"
"No...but it's been a dream of mine to make a Pokemon League and have a Champion!" Kukui said, excitedly.
The professor and I continued to make small talk until we got to Iki town.
