Deaf One

I was in the middle of a brawl with the Alpha of the Rouges when my mother mind linked me. Vincent, she's in labor! As much as I wanted to sprint off towards my Mate, I couldn't. I had to finish this. He sensed my nerves and smirked. Damon growled out and lunged for his throat, tearing into flesh. He howled out and the battle seemed to stop. It was just us. He  whined on the ground as I approached him. I put my paw forward and crushed his skull under it. Immediately after, I ran faster than ever before.

I was just moments from stepping into the room she was in when I heard her say that she wouldn't give birth without me. Why the heck not? Doctor Strouse shouted that the baby couldn't wait any longer I saw the conflict in her eyes. She wouldn't have to make that choice. I busted through the doors and went straight to my Mate's side. Damon howled in pride with her having our pup. Only a few minutes later the cries of our baby filled the room as well as Juniper's sigh of relief and then her shocked yip.

"What is it?" I asked, making sure she could see my lips. She reached out and touched my face, tears streaming down her's as she beamed.

"I-I can hear you..." she said. "I can hear myself! I can hear our baby!"

"W-What?" It couldn't be true. She was deaf!

"It's a boy!" Doctor Strouse said, placing our son in Juniper's arms. 

"A boy," she murmured. "My boy, Lucian. You wailed so loud that even I could hear you."

I pulled Doctor Strouse aside. "How could this happen?"

"The only way I can explain it is that the Moon Goddess decided that her child shouldn't suffer any more. Congratulations on your son, Alpha." She patted my back and walked away to get a nurse. This couldn't be happening. It was too perfect. Everything was going right and I had this feeling in my gut that it was about to go all wrong. Something was about to happen and it wasn't good.

Total cliffhanger I know. Please no hateful comments about how Juniper got her hearing back it will be explained later on just be patient.
