Ch. 2: What the Fuck?!

-Dietrich's pov- (that same morning as Guen's pov)

*Beep, beep, beep*

"Ugh." I said rolling out of my bed onto the floor. "Fuckin' school." I stood up off of the floor, took a shower and changed into my clothes for the day; a grey t-shirt, black basketball shorts, and the black basketball shoes that I wear every day. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen to eat some breakfast; eggs, bacon, and toast, and turned on the news to see if anything interesting had happened that day.

"This morning a girl was found dead lying on the ground of the Black Forest. The BKA won't give us many details at this time except that the girls name has been identified as Mira Kate Bonhoeffer and is from the town of Budingen here in Germany. If you have any information about Mira and her death please call the BKA at 001-541-754-3010, I repeat 001-541-754-3010."

I quickly shut off the TV in alarm. "Shit, that's Caleb's girlfriend isn't it?" I thought in alarm. I then texted my mom,

Hey mom? - Diet (Deet)

Good morning Diet. What? - Mom

Is Mira Caleb's gf? - Diet

I don't know anything that has to do with your friends Diet, you know this. Why? - Mom

Have you watched the news this morning yet? - Diet

No, I'm not allowed to at work, plus, I only watch news in the evening. - Mom

Well, the news just said that Mira was found dead in the Black Forest. - Diet

How sad, but what are you trying to say? I'm quite confused. - Mom

Never mind mom; you wouldn't understand anyway. - Diet

K, see you later then. - Mom

See ya. - Diet

Welp, I guess that my mom's no help. "I need to find Guen now." I  jumped into my jeep and drove off to school to find and talk to Guen. I got there and parked and without seeing Guen's car anywhere I went inside and decided to talk to her later. Inside my homeroom I sat down and realized that I forgot my backpack. "Fuck," I cursed under my breath. So I stood up and left the room to head back home to get my backpack *Ding, ding, ding* "Oh. My. Goodness. For crying out loud." I guess that I have to skip school today, because I do not want a detention for forgetting my stuff. As I was heading to the door to leave I saw Guen rush past me, without even noticing me, to her homeroom. "Guen!" I shouted to her, but she didn't even notice me. I walked around the school for a while making sure that no student or teacher noticed me because I just had a hunch that I would run into Guen at some point. "Wait? Is that Guen's mom?" I thought looking at the door at a lady walking into the office. Just as I had suspected, I heard Guen's name over the intercom and saw her heading from her homeroom to the office. I stood watching her for a moment and after about three minutes I saw her run from the office back to her homeroom and then a minute later as she was running back to the office I ran up behind her and grabbed her by the waist. "Hey my sweet baby cakes." I said to her inhaling the sweet scent of her perfume.

"Babe!" She said spinning around in my arms planting a sweet kiss onto my lips. "Why aren't you in class?"

"I could ask you the same." I said Eskimo kissing her.

"I have to leave. Caleb went missing right after he found out about Mira's death." She said as her gaze fell to her feet.

"Oh, I feel so sorry for you baby. Do you want me to come search with you?" I asked gazing down into her stunning bright blue eyes.

"That would be great but, don't you have to go back to second hour?" She asked a questioning look in her adorable eyes.

"I can talk to my teachers tomorrow." I said resting my forehead onto hers. "Now let's go find Caleb."

She broke away from my arms and grabbed my hand and we ran to the office together. "Mom, Dietrich is going to help us search for Caleb."

"Okay, let's split up. I'll search around town," Her mom said telling us where to search. "Guen, you can go search just outside of town in the country, and Dietrich, you can go search in the Black Forest where Mira's body was found because it's only ten or so miles away."

"No! Mom, I can't let Dietrich go to the Black Forest alone! I don't want him to get hurt just like Mira..." Guen said tears forming in her eyes.

"Baby," I said pulling her to me. "don't worry. I'll stay completely safe." I rubbed my thumb back and forth across her face and looked into her sweet eyes to try to comfort her.

"Well I'm gonna get going." Her mom said opening the main school door. "If you find him, call me, if you don't, make sure to come back to the house at five-ish because I don't want you to be searching in the dark."

"Okay mom. See ya later." Guen said smiling at her mom as she left.

Her mom walked out the door and she turned around to look at me again. "Babe."

"Yes baby?" I asked her softly.

"Can you just please come with me? Or can I go with you? I don't want anything bad happening to you." She murmured resting her face against my shoulder.

"Oh, baby." I said picking her up. She wrapped her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. "I'll be okay. But, if you want, you can come with me. I doubt that Caleb could have gone ten miles by now so we can search the country-side first and then head to the forest but I will make sure to stay safe if we go search different areas."

"I wanna come with you." She said resting her chin on my shoulder.

"Okay, drive your car back to your house, I'll follow you there, and then you can jump into my car after you park yours," I said carrying her out to her car.

I gently placed her down by her car and walked over to mine getting in and starting the engine I drove after her towards her house. As she pulled into her garage I pulled over right next to the sidewalk by her front door. She ran out of her house and jumped into my car next to me. Once she was buckled in I asked, "Did Caleb take his phone with him?"

"Uh, I'm not sure, I'll call my mom." She said grabbing her sparkly bright ocean blue phone out of her pocket. She dialed a number and held the phone next to her ear. After a few moments I saw her slide her phone back into her pocket and then I turned my gaze back to the road. 

"He left it on his dresser." She said to me after a very brief second.

I saw something on the road that we were coming up on and about the time that I realized what it was Guen seemed to as well. "Holy Shit! Babe, stop the car!" She yelled out with alarm. I pulled over to the side of the road and stopped the car. Guen quickly jumped out and ran out into the road and I jumped out after her.
