Finally... alone time...

Marks POV

"Tim! Get down from there right now!" I could hear Jack shouting from our back door and I ran over to see what was happening, as I went out into the garden I saw Tim hanging upside down in our back yard tree, "Timothy! What are you doing that's dangerous!? Get down!" I shouted to him and he stopped laughing and carefully climbed down.

The kids would always listen to me but never for Jack. "Sorry dad, but it was Sam's idea! She said I was a monkey and that I lived in the tree but she needed to catch me so I ran up there to hide!" He said pointing at Samantha who came out from behind the tree.

"You almost gave me a heart attack! Could ya please listen to me next time I ask you to do something? I shouldn't  have to get Mark out here for you guys to listen." Jack asked in an exhausted tone.

"Sorry papa, we'll listen more often." Sam apologised and they both walked inside. I walked over to Jack and wrapped my arms around him giving him a quick kiss while the kids weren't around. "You seem tired love?" I asked and as if on cue he yawned.

"It's just, I know we signed up for this when we adopted kids, but, it's been almost a year and I can't think of a single weekend or even just a day that we've had for ourselves and I miss it." He mumbled and buried his head into the crook of my neck.

"Yeah I know Jackaboy, that's the price of having two little 5 year old twins running around the house to look after all the time. But maybe we should have a little break? I'm sure Felix and Marzia wouldn't mind looking after them for one night?" I suggested and he pulled back grinning at me.

"Seriously? I mean are you sure the kids would be ok with that as well?" He asked but before I could answer I heard little Tims voice, "me and Sam would love to go to uncle Fe's right sammy!?" He shouted from the tree again.

"Tim! What did we just tell you?" I asked and he climbed back down.
"Oh yeah, sorry... But I think you and papa should have a weekend off and we can go see uncle Fe!" He shouted and I chuckled as they'd clearly been listening to our whole conversation.

"Yeah can we can we can we!?" Sam chimed in and jack giggled and nodded. We went back into the house and I rang Felix.

Hey Felix!
Hey Mark what's up?
Well the kids were wondering if they'd ever be able to spend a night with you an Marzia and I thought that I'd ask if you could look after them this weekend? You don't have to It's just that they really want to.
Yeah that's cool man! I've never had them for myself for a weekend! I can show them all the stuff that a cool uncle does! Yeah, of course, we'd love to look after them!
Awesome! Thanks dude I'll tell the kids the good news.
Sure just text me when you're dropping them round, bye Mark!
Yeah! Bye Fe.

I hung up the phone and told Sam and Tim that they said yes and then I helped them to pack their bags.

~ time skip to after they've come home from Felix's house ~

"Hey Baby, whatcha wanna do now we have some peace and quiet for the weekend?" I asked jack as I wrapped my arms around his waist. "Hmm, I'm not sure... Ooh, could we watch a scary movie together? I haven't watched a horror in so long!" He replied and I chuckled at him.

"Ok go set one up I'll get the popcorn and blankets to hide under." He giggled and nodded as he went to go choose a movie.

I have a great plan for tonight and a horror film is the perfect way to start it off because I know what Jack's like...
