Joseph Sudy: You Are My Sunshine

I realize that once I made a promise to myself;

It was a promise not to cry

For all those old and elderly

Who happen just to die.

But sometimes, a promise cannot be kept.

I tried so hard to hold it together,

But I fell to my knees and wept.

I promise now to sing to you,

A promise that I'll keep.

After all, you are my sunshine.

So that's the song I'll seek.

Your name is Joseph Sudy, your soul is pure and clean.

You're kind, you're religious, you're amazing and you're unique;

And when I sing to you for that last time tomorrow,

I'm sure you'll know, somehow, what it is exactly that I mean.
