Chapter 2: 2 Months earlier.
"Call me?" Nicole texted me.
"Of course! Duh! 😋❤️" I replied.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey girl! Okay look out the window, tell me if this outfit is cute for school."
Nicole and I live right next to each other, her window facing mine so we can see each other.
Nicole and I have been best friends since preschool. We do everything together, we are like sisters, I love her to death and beyond. We are just like Oreos and milk, you can't eat Oreos without milk, they are nothing without each other.
Well that explains me and Nicole's friendship.
Nicole was wearing a hot pink t-shirt with a think black belt running in the middle, black capris, and black Toms, and her hair, always the same naturally curly and parted to the side.
"Uhhhh..lose the belt." I said
"Okay...wow! Marie this looks way better, I don't know what I would do without you!"
"Haha, I will always be here for you, I'm here to stay!"
She smiled at me, and I smiled back.
"Okay, we have 5 more minutes until we have to leave. So I'm going to fix up my make-up and go to pick you up." She said.
"Always has been the plan." I respond with a huge smile.
I hung up, and rushed down the stairs.
"Good morning mother." I sing-songed to my mom.
"Good morning sunshine, your lunch is on the table. All packed up." She said with a smile.
This is my other best friend; my mom. She means the world to me. She has never done me wrong. She has always and will always have my back. And I love her for that.
*BEEP BEEP*
"Ooh! That sounds like Nicole."
"Yep!"
"Good morning my 2nd family." Nicole walked in with a huge smile.
"Well someone looks happy." mom spotting out the obvious.
"Well I am wearing the best outfit, and it's my birthday! Who wouldn't be happy?"
"Exactly mom, so if you excuse us we will be going." I said grabbing my lunch and an apple and heading for the door.
"I love you sweetie, have a great day!" Mom yelled.
I closed the door and got in the car.
The engine was turned on and we were on our way to the prison.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"You know, it's full of fakes, drama, popularity, everything horrible that you could possibly name is in this stinking high school."
"Yeah tell me about it." I say getting out of the light blue convertible.
"Oh! Before I forget! Remember my birthday party is on Saturday 5-11:45 at my house."
"Won't forget it for anything in the world, and before YOU forget, do you have your invitations Nicole?"
"Oh shit. Yeah it's in the car, go meet up with Matty, I'll be right with you guys." Nicole said walking towards her car.
It was a nice, warm spring day. The flowers are smelling, the birds are chipping, nothing can possibly go wrong, except...
"Oh my gawd, Marie! You look amazing today!" Melody said, you can just here the snobby, nasty, sarcasticness in her voice.
I was wearing a royal blue t-shirt, light blue jeans and my gray Converse. I didn't think my outfit was that bad, I mean it's just school why do was have to get all dressed up for? People are going to judge anyways.
"Love those Converse as well..where did you get them? Salvation army..? Ahaha sorry not sorry!" She said with a smirk.
"I'm glad your having fun, now if you excuse me I would love to hang and chat but I have to meet up with a friend, I hope you have amazing day." I said walking away from their little obnoxious, squeaky laughter.
"Whoa, Marie what was that?" Matty said once I was reaching his destination.
"I hate this school I swear, I fucking hate it, I'm tired of all this bull shit." I said.
"Preach it girl."
"Oh Matty, Nicole wanted me to tell you. Her party is this Saturday 5-11:30 at her place."
"Great, I won't misses it for a thing, hey talkin' about Nicole, where is she?"
"She went to go get the invitations in her car."
"I'm back! Hey Matty" Nicole said giving Matty a hug.
Matty is our best friend, it's just us 3. And I like it that way, there's way less drama then it is having a whole group full of 5-8 friends.
So you don't get confused, Matty likes Nicole and has always liked her, but he kept it on the low and is doing a great job at it. Nicole has no idea.
Before I keep going, I'm going to catch you guys up. I am a softball player, Matty is a football and basketball player, and Nicole is a cheerleader; well not yet, but she will soon. Nicole has always wanted to be a cheerleader she's great at it, but for some reason she's scared to sign up, because of the populars.
I don't get why they make people feel like they aren't good enough. But hey thats high school.
"Okay so about my party, should I invite the populars?"
"Uh, to be honest I think you should save them for last, the left over invitations you have you can give it to them, or if you don't have any left over just tell them you'll text it to them." I responded.
"I should right..?"
"Yeah why not?" Matty said.
Deep down inside I didn't want Nicole to invite the populars, I just didn't. I have this really bad feeling they are going to get close to Nicole, and things are going to change.
Why am I worried? Nicole won't leave me and Matty for anything. Well, as I thought, I guess I was totally wrong about Nicole.
