Kian’s POV:

My eyes fluttered open, sleep almost wanting to take over. I felt so happy. I felt at home. As my vision focused, I saw Nicki next to me. Her hair was messy and her chin was snuggled in the collar of her sweater. She moved her head closer to my chest, like she knew I was awake. I looked closer at her. She was still sleeping. I looked at her long lashes and her small freckles. The fact that she hasn’t put on makeup was obvious, but I like her like that. The way the sunlight was streaming in through the open curtains and the warmth of it all made me smile.

Every time I look at her, I swear for a moment the world stops rotating and the only problem I have is that I think she’s my everything.

I stood up slowly. I was careful not to move too fast and wake her up. I tiptoed to the kitchen. I took out two mugs and put the kettle on. I stood in her kitchen and thought about everything that happened. What’s going to happen from here on out? Are we going to be different? Is our relationship, friendship…whatever this is, gonna last?

I was startled as the kettle stopped boiling. I made the coffee and put the steaming mugs on the counter. I walked to the living room, where the pizza box from last night still stood. I noticed two slices left. I took both and popped them in the microwave.

After, I put each in their own separate plate and with the coffee also, I walked back to her room.
I rested the pizza on her bedside-table.

“Nicki?” I whispered. She moved around a bit, but didn’t wake up.

“Nicki?” I said again, a little louder. “I wanna sleep,” she groaned with her eyes still closed. I could feel a smirk forming on my lips. “Oh really?” I said in a taunting manner. She nodded her head lazily.

My smile widened as I leaned closer to her and started peppering her with kisses. I kissed her on her cheek, forehead and the tip of her nose. She started giggling. Her laugh sounded so innocent. Maybe she really was an angel?

“Kian…stop,” she gasped between laughs.

“Nope,” I said, popping the ‘p’. She suddenly looked at me seriously. I frowned, confused at her change of mood. She slowly came closer and kissed me softly. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment. “I brought coffee,” I said before she could kiss me again. Her eyes widened and scanned the room until she saw the mugs. She grabbed one and started drinking.

“Should I wake you up like this every day?” I asked.

“As long as you’re here with me, I don’t care how I wake up or go to sleep. As long as I know you’ll be here,” she said before taking another gulp. I reached to grab the plate of pizza and rested it in front of her on the bed. She smiled even wider and put her coffee away. She took a bite out of her pizza. The way her brown eyes were filled with serenity and the way she smiled at me were proof to me that angels exist.

“Is it arousing to see me eating?” she asked tauntingly. I cleared my throat and realised I’ve been staring at her this entire time. “Trust me, it’s not the only thing you do that’s arousing,” I replied, the right corner of my mouth jerking up. She laughed and shook her head. We ate pizza and talked about everything there was to talk about.

“What do you wanna do today?” she asked me as she was swallowing her last bite of pizza. I smiled and shook my head. “You’re supposed to be taking things easy. The fact that your tissue-damage wasn’t as bad as they thought is already a miracle on its own. I think you just have to chill until your arm gets better,” I said. I regretted it right after I said it, I sounded like a parent.

“Don’t be the parenting-boyfriend,” she said with a groan. A light inside of me flickered instantly. She called me her boyfriend.

“Are you saying we’re officially dating?”
