*Kyle*
My head was spinning. Zacky was letting me and my brother move into his apartment and my brother has the nerve to ask him if we’d had sex?! As soon as Zacky left, I grabbed Troy and dragged him to the couch and plopped him down. I started pacing in front of him and I had my hands covering my face.
“Why did you ask him…if he and I had…how did you know about that anyway!” I shouted.
Troy blushed hard and looked away from me. I shook my head and kneeled in front of him.
“No, tell me. What do you know?” I asked a little softer.
He squirmed and did everything he could to avoid my gaze.
“Troy. Tell me right now.” I said.
He sighed and shrugged.
“I heard Charlie say you have sex for money so I was just wondering if that was why he was letting us stay here.” He said in a small voice.
It was my turn to blush. My face felt like it was on fire. My little brother thought I fucked for money. I sighed and put my head on the couch beside him.
“Kyle? Do you have sex for money?” He asked me.
“Do you even know what sex is?” I mumbled into the couch.
When he didn’t answer, I looked up and he shook his head. I smiled and hugged him.
“No Troy, I don’t have sex for money. I dance for money.” I told him.
He nodded and I handed him the remote.
“Here, watch some TV.” I told him.
He smiled and flipped it on. I went outside and leaned over the balcony. My own baby brother thinks I’m a slut. What an awesome day I’m having. Which got me to thinking, what was my mother going to do when she finds out Troy and I are gone? Would she even care? I mean, as far as anyone knows Troy is my son. At least that’s what it says on his birth certificate.
“KYLE!” Troy shouted from the house.
I snapped myself out of my thoughts and rushed into the house.
“What?!” I shouted nervously.
Troy just pointed to the phone that was ringing on the counter. I sighed and rolled my eyes and picked it up.
“Hello?” I said.
“Hey Kyle, look I found a house that I’m gonna buy and I think you and Troy should come take a look at it.” Zacky said.
I was speechless. I was just nodding into the phone and smiling like a fool.
“Uh Kyle? You still there?” He said.
I shook my head slightly.
“Yeah, sorry. How would you like us to get there?” I asked him.
“Don’t worry, Brian’s wife Kate is on her way to pick you up.” He said.
I ran my hands through my hair and nodded.
“Yeah, okay. We’ll see you soon.” I said.
When we hung up, Troy was staring at me. I grinned and lifted him off the couch.
“Zacky is gonna buy a house and he wants us to check it out!” I shouted.
Troy giggled and I spun him around.
“I can’t believe it! I’m gonna live with Zacky Vengeance!” He shouted.
I laughed and set him back down.
“Kyle?” He asked.
“What hun?” I asked him.
I watched his face fall into deep thought and he looked away from me.
“What about momma?” He asked softly.
What about momma? I haven’t exactly thought about that yet. I sighed and closed my eyes.
“Troy, I don’t know what’s gonna happen but until I say otherwise I’m your momma, okay?” I told him.
He started to protest but I put my finger on his lips.
“I mean it Troy. You can’t tell Zacky or anyone else that I’m your sister, they might try and take you away from me if you do.” I said.
Fear crept into his eyes and he held me tight.
“Don’t let them take me Kyle.” He whispered.
My heart broke. I wrapped my arms around his small body and I held him close.
“I’m not gonna let anyone take you away from me okay? Ever.” I said.
He nodded and I kissed his forehead. From the kitchen, I heard a loud buzzing nose. I got up and saw that the intercom was blinking. There was a button that said ‘talk’ so I pressed it.
“Yes?” I said.
“Hi, this is Kate. Is this Kyle?” I sighed and pressed the button again.
“Yeah, Troy and I will be down in a sec.” I said.
“Sure! Take your time.” She said.
Her voice was light and airy and I could practically hear her smile. I smiled too and picked up Troy’s hoodie.
“Alright, let’s go.” I said.
Troy jumped off the couch and we left the apartment.
