Present Day

I watched the clock tick slowly by wishing the bell would ring. I couldnt help replay this morning for the millionth time. Seeing my mom in the kitchen crying when she saw me. I know im getting older and all but i didnt think she would cry. I know my birthday is in a couple of days but jeesh crying.

"Miss Redwood!" My teacher called me. Sucking me back into reality.

"Oh sorry Mr. Boden." I said looking at my middle aged math teacher.

"Now please pay attention Miss Redwood. As i was saying our semster exainme is this friday. Please be prepared i do not feel like spending time grade horrible test." Mr. Boden said walking back to his desk. I looked at the clock to see it was almost time for the bell to ring. Four...Three....Two....One. BRRINNNGGG! I rushed to grab my things and head out the door when i heard my name being called.

"Kylie!" I turned around to see Mark heading my way.

"Oh hey Mark." I said slowing down.

"Hey i was uh wondering if you wanted to go to this party with me tonight." He said smiling at me.

"Uh..i cant Mark. Sorry but i got to go." I said walking pass him to go to my locker.

Mark was your typcial player go from one girl to the next and i wasnt going to be one of them sorry pathetic girls you see crying in the bathroom cause he dumped them. I was walking down the hall when i saw LeeLee she was already picking up her pace. I ran and jumped on her.

"LeeLee!!" I screamed as i got down. A big grin on my face.

"Why do you always do that? You act like i've been gone for years." She said smiling as she opened up her locker.

"Oh you know you like it so zip it." I said opeing mine.

"Who likes what?" Matt said coming up behind us.

"Your such a perv Matt but its ok cause we love you and we will just ignore that just like verything else you say." I said laughing as his face dropped.

"Any who Kylie would you like to go to the club for your birthday and party it up with the gang." LeeLee asked as Mark caught up to us.

"Hell yeah!" Mark said wrapping his arms around us. Making people around us look at him for his outbrust.

"Yeah that sounds good. Lets go." I said heading out to the parking lot. We reached my car and got in when my phone went off.

"Hello...hey mom....yeah im on my way...no i gotta drop off LeeLee and Matt first..yup will do..Yeah love ya to bye!" I said as i hung up the phone.

"I cant believe you still have that on your phone." Mark said leaning into the front.

~Later~

I walked through the door and dropped my bags and headed to the kitchen. I walked in to see my mom cooking up a storm, like always. I walked over to the counter to lean on it.

"Hey mom"

"Hey sweetie." She said stirring the noodles."How was school?" She asked.

"Eh it was ok i guess. LeeLee and Matt asked me if i wanted to go to the club for my birthday and party but no alcohol." I said in a rush.

"No" She said.

"What? Why cant i go you let me last year for my 16th birthday." I said.

"Cause i said no Kylie and thats it." She said tearing up. Ok my mom is never like this normally she'd tell me why i cant go. Shes never gotten this upset about me asking to go somewhere. I'll just let it go and ask later when she has calmed down a bit. I headed up stairs to my room. I opened the door and walked over to my bed and flopped down. I looked over at my night stand and saw it was 3pm. I had an hr and halp before ihad to be at work, so i decided to take a nap. YAY NAP TIME!! BEEP BEEP BEEP i rolled over and hit my alarm and sat up. i stretched and got up and went to find my work shirt.

"Leaving for work be home about 9:30." I said as i walked out the door and to my car. I got in and backed out my drive way. As i pulled into the parking lot. I turned off the car and headed to the shelter. I walked into see Debbie behind the desk typing away on the computer.

"Hey Debbie." I said walking behind the counter.

"Hey honey. We have a new case just came in." She said looking up at me.

"Yeah. Whats the case?" I said

"Rottweiler puppy. Female found in the dumpster downtown. She's a nasty little thing. Wont let anyone get near her." Debbie said shaking her head.

"Oh well i'm gonna go check on her and then start on my list." I said heading to the back. I grabbed the clipborad and saw the holding cell she was in. I walked down to cell 10 and there she was curled up in a ball at the back of the cell. I opened the door as she picked up her head. I stood at the opening as she got upand walked over to me. I bent over reaching out my hand. I was expecting her to growl but instead she walked over and licked my hand. I reached out to pick her up and she didnt do anything she let me pick her up. I headed out to the front to show Debbie.

"Hey Debbie. Look." I said as she turned around to look.

"Oh my word." She said as she got up and head towards us. The puppy had noticed to and began to growl." I see shes still nasty. But seeing as how you can pick her up give her a bath." She said.

~Later~

"Hey Debbie is it possible that i could adopt her?" I asked petting the puppy that was curled up in my lap asleep.

"Yes of course dear. You just have to fill out paper and then let it get cleared." Debbie said looking at us."But why dont you go a head and head home. And if you want take her with you." She said smiling at us.

"OK. Come on.....LuLu" I said as i sat here down to get my things as we headed out the shelter. We got into my car as i decided to callmy mom.

"Hey mom...yeah im off of work....but hey um they had a little puppy and iwant to keep her would that be ok....Really i cant..ok well then im gonn stop at a store and get her somethings...be home soon love you." I hung up the phone and decided to go to Pet Lovers. i had spent longer than i intended in Pet Lovers so i was in a hurry to get home it was already after 10 and i was tired. I pulled into my drive way and grabbed LuLu and head into the house. Everyone seemed to be in bed already so i went into the kitchen made myself a sandwich and headed to my room. On the way i passed by my moms and dads room. I heard my mom crying.

"Amaruq we have to tell her. We cant let her go without telling her." She said crying.

"Do you think it will do any better for her to know where and who she is going with Annalee cause i dont. She wont stay if we tell her. But if you think so then i guess we should." Dad said.

"No your right dear we shouldnt its in her best interest." I heard my mom say. I dont know wht they were talking about so i just kept walking to my room. LuLu made herself comfortable on my pillow and fell asleep. I curled up right next to her and did the same.
