KELLINS POV:
I woke up with a smile plastered on my face. It was Saturday and that meant I get the house to myself. I loved when my parents weren't here. These were my favorite days. I just get to chill and lay back without my parents nagging me about my attitude.
"Good morning," I cooed at my credit card on my bed-side table, "Time for a shower."
I got up and enjoyed the silence for a minute but then killed it by blaring music. I didn't mind what time it was. If I can't sleep in, no one could. I looked outside my window and saw the neighbors waking up.
"Sorry, not sorry," I chuckled and then walked to the bathroom.
I took a short, cold shower and when I got out I felt more awake. I dried myself up and put some clothes on. I settled on some black skinny jeans with a white, loose fitting t-shirt. I made my way downstairs, taking my small speaker with me to play music.
I didn't look forward to doing much today, I might just do online shopping since I can't go to the mall. I'm grounded for going 'overboard' with money which is ridiculous. I only spent a thousand... or two... maybe even three... But it's my parents fault, they should've known that I'm a spender. I don't like limits, I don't even pay attention to price. I just buy and buy more.
My phone buzzed as I sat down on the couch. It was a text from my mom, which was odd. She was at work and she never texts me when she's at work. I was confused by her texting me and by the text itself.
Mom {Hey sweetie, your father and I have a surprise for you later today. Maybe it'll clean up your materialistic personality}
Kellin { 1. Why are you texting me? Aren't you at work? 2. Nothing is gonna clean that up 3. What's the surprise?}
Mom {It's a secret. And don't you dare think of going anywhere or spending any money. We will take away your credit card if you do}
Kellin {Fine}
She seemed to really have a problem with me spending. But I can't help it, I was born addicted to the money. You expect me to just be born into a wealthy family and not like spending? Ha, that's funny.
I sighed, not knowing what to do for the remainder of the day. I couldn't spend money, I couldn't go outside, I couldn't do anything. I settled on playing video games, so I went upstairs to the game room and opened the door to reveal that everything was gone. My jaw dropped, my games, my computer, my action figures all gone.
"What the fuck?" I said to myself.
It was all replaced with a room. It had a set up similar to mine, almost identical to mine. I couldn't believe it. Maybe they just switched the game room and the guest room. And with that, I went to the next room and it was another room. They changed the guest room and the game room... Then where the fuck was all my stuff?
I ran to the empty spare room we had in out house and opened the door quickly. I let out a breath of relief. My games and everything were just moved. I went back downstairs, not interested in playing games anymore. I was just interested as to why there were now two bedroom set ups in our house... Maybe my family was coming over? I couldn't wrap my head around it.
I decided to call my friends and invite them over. My mom never said anything about my friends coming over, she only said I couldn't go anywhere. I invited my friends Jenna, Justin and Jack. The three J's and then there's me, my name beginning with a K. They all agreed to come over and I smiled. Now I won't be bored.
____
Jenna, Justin, Jack and I have been hanging out for a couple hours. We were interrupted by my mom walking through the door. I rolled my eyes and looked at the door. My mom looked just as annoyed as we did.
"I think that's our que. See you tomorrow Kellin!" Jenna exclaimed and they all got up and left.
When I heard the door shut, I got up and walked to the kitchen. I ignored my mom and she followed me to the kitchen, she sat down on a stool and I did the same.
"Kellin, you are grounded," she broke the silence.
"Yeah, but you never said anything about my friends coming over. You said I couldn't go anywhere," I smirked and she glared at me, "So, whats the surprise?"
"Right, your father is actually on his way with them," she said.
"Them?" I questioned.
"Kellin, your father and I decided to foster two sweet kids. They will stay here with us for quite some time so I urge you to be polite," she told me and I fumed.
"No! I don't want them! They aren't allowed to touch my stuff and they aren't allowed to share with me-" I was cut off by my mother.
"May I remind you that I make that money to give to you, your father as well providing you with money. So don't think that we won't stop giving you money because we will," she was just as angry as me now.
"Fine! But don't expect me to be all rainbows and sunshine! Don't expect me to change, just because they will be staying with us. And I swear if they use my car, there will be fucking hell to pay for them," I told her sternly.
"They will not be touching your car, Kellin. If that's what you're worried about then don't. They will get their own things. Plus, they probably won't even accept our money. You will still get your fair share of money," she told me and I nodded, calming down a bit more.
"Okay, fine. I guess I could tolerate them," I sighed and she smiled.
The door bell rang and I mentally prepared myself for sharing and being fair which were my worst qualities...
