It was a quarter past seven when they were finally ready. Nick was dressed head to toe in a luxurious three-piece Italian suit while Amy was wearing an elegant gown, both courtesy of the former tenants. On Amy's finger was a sparkly diamond affixed to a simple platinum band. She had been staring at the ring ever since Nick proposed.

"Shall we?" Nick asked, extending his arm.

Amy took him by the hand and walked with him downstairs. They passed the kitchen on their way to the garage. The large black duffel bag was still lying on the floor of the kitchen. Nick reached down and grabbed a shiny chrome short-barrelled shotgun.

"Seriously, Nick?" Amy said with disdain.

"What? You never know what creatures may be lurking at night."

Amy rolled her eyes and proceeded to the garage. Nick followed behind wearing a five-thousand dollar Armani suit and holding a shotgun in his hand.

"Let me guess, we're taking the Lamborghini?" Amy asked.

"That car is probably worth more than all of these cars combined. It wouldn't make sense to drive anything less, right?"

"I guess so."

"Do you want to drive?" Nick asked.

"Um... sure!" she said with enthusiasm. She had been in a good mood ever since the proposal so she was incredibly receptive to new ideas.

Amy sat behind the steering wheel in the plush leather bucket seat. Her dazzling high heels barely reached the pedals.

"Sorry, you're going to have to adjust the seat," Nick said.

She felt around beside her until she found the electronic switches that adjust the seat. The tiny motor embedded in the seat slowly moved her forward until her feet hit the pedals.

She made a few more adjustments before she started the car. When she was ready, she pressed the start button and revved the engine a few times. A large smile uncontrollably shot across her face. Nick noticed and smiled with her.

"Sounds good, huh?" Nick asked.

"Sounds powerful," she replied.

It was exciting for him to see her enjoying herself in something he cherished so dearly. It was like he was reliving the moment for the first time.

Amy carefully pulled out of the garage and slowly started down the winding driveway.

"Alright, where to, Nick?" she asked, still giddy from excitement.

"Once you get to the bottom of the hill, hang a right and go into the downtown area."

Amy already felt the power of the supercar. After pulling out of the driveway and barely touching the gas pedal, the car jolted forward.

"WHOA!" Amy yelled with delight.

Like Nick had done earlier, she raced through the city, taking wide corners as if the streets were a private race track. When she encountered a straight stretch of road, she floored the gas pedal, sending them both into the backs of their seats.

Nick told Amy where to go. When they arrived at the restaurant, Nick was covering Amy's eyes. He was guiding her by the arm, making sure she didn't bump into anything. He had prearranged every detail.

As they entered the restaurant, Nick asked, "Are you ready?"

"Yes," Amy said apprehensively.

Nick removed his hand from her eyes to reveal the surprise. The entire restaurant was decorated with fresh flowers, and Christmas lights were draped along the walls and ceiling. In the centre of the restaurant was a lone table covered in rose pedals and set with the finest silver, crystalware, and bleached white linen.
