A Little New Madness

Alice POV.

I took a deep heavy breathe as I finally got to breath while I climbed out of the rabbit hole while burying my nails into the dirt trying to crawl out.

I rolled and layed on my back looking at the sky and started to cry with emotion,pain,sadness,anger. I screamed.

I can't go back now,I need to obey hatter.

"Hello? Is somebody there?" -- a strange voice called out to me but I hid behind a tree "hello? Who's there? I won't hurt you,I promise" the stranger spoke in a sweet voice,I poked my head out from the side of the tree "my lord,look at you,you look like you fell in a hole"-- I forced a smile but changed my smile when the man touch my hands "you're cold as dead,come let me take you home" he said pulling on my hand. I stopped. "Don't worry,I won't hurt you,you see...I have a family myself I'm sure they'll love you"-- my stomach growled and my looked away "and your hungry too,come". I haven't eaten anything for 2 days indeed I was starving.i followed the man,he was a nice old man,about the age of
50.

I followed behind him not saying a single word,"we are here,home sweet home aye?" -- the house was small,made out of woods,like a cabin yet it smelled so homey and cozy. I smiled and walked up the two steps to the house,inside 3 children were helping what Seemed to be their mother cook,everything was clean,they were poor but yet so happy. I wonder if I will ever be happy again without hatter. "Daddy's home" a kid shouted and then the rest followed behind him and hugged their daddy,how sweet I thought. "Who are you?" A little girl asked her dad "I'm afraid I haven't ask her name how rude of me,my name is James and this are my kids Lisa,Julia and James Jr." -- he whispered "just called him Jimmy" -- "it's nice to meet you all my name is Alice" -- "that's a beautiful name" Lisa who was 5 spoke and I just smiled "ah~ and not to forget my Beautiful wife Margaret"--"how do you do?". Margaret opened her arm and hugged me "my lord,your are as cold as dead" -- "that's what I said" said James "here you go sweetheart" Margaret place a blanket over my shoulders "t-thank you"

"Come,come" James said as he held a chair open for me. I looked around. Everything was hand-made,their clothe were old and ragged,they were poor but yet so happy,I watched as Lisa and Julia played with their dolls which were made of cloth and a few branches while Jimmy just read,they were so happy.

I watched Margaret cook while James help her,James and Margaret smiled from ear to ear but Margaret's smile turned even wider when James kissed her on the cheek. I began to wonder: will hatter and I ever get married?,how many babies will I have?,will we grow old together?,will I ever see him again?

My eyes began to burn with tears,"Alice,isn't it? What were you doing back in those neck of the wood?" -- Margaret asked while she cleaned my wounds and scratches. I couldn't tell her about Wonderland,how animals talk,they'll think I'm mad. "I was just walking around,but then I tripped over t-the rabbit hole"-- Margaret clicked get tongue "oh~that rabbit hole,we must do something about it,people get hurt with that stupid rabbit hole" -- "indeed,tomorrow morning I shall cover that hole"--my eyes widen "you can't!...you can't b-because rabbits live there that's their home"-- Margaret and James looked at each other "oh don't you worry I'll make sure theres no rabbits" he chuckled. I bit my lip hard. If they cover that rabbit hole how am I suppose to go back to hatter?

"Well,let's eat shall we?"'- the kids bounced up and sat on the table ready to eat,Margaret placed a plate in front of me which looks like soup but when I look at the others plate my plate was fuller than the others. Before I could dig in I serve them a little more of mine "oh Alice you didn't have to do that"-- "please,I insist" I smiled and started to eat.it wasn't the best thing but I was starving.

I looked out the window as it rained,I remember well...hatter and I loved to go out side and take long walks but when it was raining hatter and I would stay in my room and well...you know the rest.

"Alice,why don't you come and rest,I bet you must be exhausted ,say are you from here?" Margaret looked at me "i-i guess everything seems so different from what I can remember" I chuckled weakly."you poor thing"

Margaret set some blanket on the couch but I couldn't sleep,I couldn't stop thinking about Hatter. I missed him,I loved him. Sighing I held onto the necklace hatter had given me, please be safe I thought.

2 months later

Little did I know I was carrying hatters child inside me,I felt happy yet I felt fear,I didn't know the first thing about children and at the same time hatter didn't know,what would have been his reaction?,happy,sad,scared?
I did not know nothing. James and Margaret took me in once they were sure I was pregnant.i even help them around the house

"How are you doing sweetie" Margaret asked as I rub my small little bump "I'm alright" I smiled. "I'm going out to the grocerie store,did you want to come with me,I think it'll do you good to get some fresh air" -- I nodded. Indeed I was getting rather bored of being inside of this house and looking out the window,plus I think it'll do me good to spend some more time with Margaret's and Jame's kids

We took Jame's carriage though it wasn't the best one. I looked at my surroundings as I caress my little bump,it felt nice to get some fresh air working through my lungs. "Not fair,you where it the first time why should you be again"
"Because I'm the oldest duh!"
"Jimmy be nice" Margaret barked
"Alice would you like to play with us?,we are playing "I Spy" " -- "sure,sounds fun"
Little Lisa sat next to me "that's not fair you have Alice in your side" protested Julia
"hmmm....i spy with my little eye sounding green" Lisa said as she giggled
"A tree? That's easy" said Julia
"My turn" said Julia
"I spy with my little eye something....white"
"Clouds?" Jimmy said "no"
I looked around and froze when my eyes caught something white and flurry hopping around "a rabbit?..."
"Yes!" Said Julia
The white Rabbit! I looked closely but it was just an ordinary white rabbit not one with clothe and a watch always saying "I'm late I'm late"

Once we arrived to the grocery store there were many people,and other little store stands,it was nothing like wonderland,kids were running around playing hide and seek while little girl played with their dolls. My eyes caught sight of a hat store "Alice aren't you coming?"-- "I'll be looking inside that store is that alright?"
Margaret looked around confused before she finally nodded and went inside.

As I stepped in my fingers tips ran through the fabric of hats,they looked just like hatters but of course they weren't the same,I smiled and tried on a hat which looked just like hatters hat,I looked myself in the mirror,but when I did I saw hatter standing right infront of me smiling,his electric green eyes looking right into mines,my eyes watered,it just as if he was right there in front of me but he then disappeared.

Was I going mad? I plced the hat back but There was no hat store,no hats,just a mirror.

Am I Mad?
