Four years.
That's how long it had been since Shion had saved the ghoul who had entered his house in seek of refuge.
It felt like just yesterday to him.
During that time, he was forced to live in the slums of town (well, the slums compared to his old place) since the CCG found out. His mother opened up a bakery right across from a café that went by the name of Anteiku.
She sold them her baked goods.
Shion would go there daily to drink their delicious coffee.
And to see the beautiful girl.

He sighed, pulling on his blue sweater over a white button up shirt. I shouldn't be thinking about him. He thought to himself. Shion then grabbed his jacket and his copy of Hamlet and headed out the door. He trotted across the street and opened the door to Anteiku, the little bell jingling as he entered.
"Shion! Your typical table, I presume?" the purple haired barista called from behind the counter.
"Yep, thanks Touka!" he smiled and took his seat. Shion then ordered a cup of coffee and opened his book, turning to the page he was at. He read for a while, pausing intermediately to take sips of his coffee, when he heard the bell ring.
He pried his eyes away from the book and rested them on the beautiful woman in front of him.
She had shoulder length brown hair and eyes to match. She wore a dress that came down to her knees. She was the girl of his dreams.
She say down at the table across from him and pulled out a copy of Romeo and Juliet. She turned to a page within the tragedy and began to read.
He could feel his face heating up as he watched her tuck a strand of brown hair behind her ear.
Gosh, she's so pretty. He thought.
Shion gazed after her with such intensity that he didn't notice Touka coming up beside him.
"Why are you looking at Safu?" She asked in her typical cold tone.
His face burst with colour at her words.
"I-I..." He stuttered, "I wasn't!"
"Tsk, bullshit. You like her." She retorted.
"I... yeah. I do." He bowed his head in defeat.
"Shit, you're an idiot." She rolled her eyes and went back behind the counter. She then made a hand gesture, signalling him to go talk to her.
With much hesitation, he obliged.

With his legs shaking, he struggled out of his chair and began to walk towards Safu. He clutched his book in his hands as tightly as he could, using it as a sort of stress reliever.
After what seemed like forever, he reached the table.
"H-hi..." he said softly. She looked up from her book and grinned.
"Hello," she put her finger in her book and closed it.
"I saw that you were reading Shakespeare and thought I should come and say hi because- uh..." He reached into his bag and pulled out his copy of Hamlet. "I'm reading Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet is one of my all time favourites." Safu laughed and tilted her head to the side.
"That's is an amazing coincidence! Sit down! Let's talk," She beckoned him to sit down.
Shion smiled and turned red. He nodded and eagerly complied to her request.
Today was going to be a good day.

Four years.
That is how long it had been since Nezumi's life was saved by an airhead human.
It felt just like yesterday to him.
Not much had happened to the ghoul since then. The CCG had stopped looking for him- they assumed that he had either died of natural causes or was killed.
Life was boring for him. He hunted sometimes, not as much as he used to though. He found a little abandoned hide out to live in and had spent a lot of time reading.
Somehow, his boredom had lead him back to the ignorant human that he owed his life to. He would watch him- though his life was pretty boring too. He would read, go to school, help his mom with their cafe and walk across the street to the ghoul coffee shop Anteiku. He didn't understand that it was a ghoul cafe, but it's fine because after all of the time he spent watching him, he knew that he was safe.
But today was different.
Nezumi was sitting on a bench across from Anteiku, sunglasses covering his grey eyes and his hair braided loosely down his side. He watched as Shion read his book and drank his tea. He watched as Shion did what he did everyday- then watched as he broke his pattern. He stood up and walked over to a girl with brown hair. A girl that Nezumi knew all too well.
Why the fuck is he talking to Safu? He thought. He watched as Shion sat down across from her and began to talk. He looked at them with disgust and fear, for Shion's life and for his sanity. He stood up and walked away, his irritation with Shion making his gears turn.
Nezumi came back at nightfall.
Safu and Shion were still there, happily talking away. Fucking dumbass. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest. His eyes widened as they suddenly stood up and walked out of the cafe. They walked together and turned around a corner.
Nezumi swore to himself and ran after them. He climbed a building and followed them from the rooftops. He watched them stop and did the same. He listened to them as closely as he could, hearing their conversation just barely.
"Thank you for walking me home," He heard Safu giggle.
"It- it's my pleasure," Shion stuttered. Still a shy dumb ass.
"You know, you smell incredibly nice," Safu's voice became more silky than it was before.
"Thank you?" Shion responded as more of a question. Shit this isn't good.
"I want you," She said and Nezumi heard her footsteps as she walked closer to Shion.
"What?" He whispered and Nezumi could smell his blood begin to boil.
"I want you inside of me," She hissed and suddenly Nezumi could hear violent screams. Nezumi's senses where overwhelmed with the sent of Shion's blood. He had half the mind to go down there and kill him himself, but he shook the violent thoughts out of his mind and focussed on repaying his debt. He looked around the roof and found a large metal bar. With all of his strength, he pushed the bar across the roof and out into Shion and Safu. As he hoped, the edge of it pierced through Safu and cut her in half. He heard Shion's screams become more faint and smiled. Thank fuck. He jumped down from the roof and pried the bar off of Shion, who had passed out. He picked the boy up and began to walk towards the nearest hospital with an irritated look on his face.
You better not fucking die on me.

Heyyo motherfuckers. I've returned from the dead (not actually the dead but you know what I mean). I was struggling a lot mentally and then became so busy with life that I was not able to write on here.
In other news, I'm writing a novel! If anyone wants to read it so far, shoot me a message and I'll send you the link.
Anywho, I hoped y'all enjoyed this filler, I'll hopefully have more soon :)
