I can't stop scrolling through his personal twitter account. The more I read, the more pictures I see- the more I can relate to a man that'll most likely never know of my existence. Isn't that just right fucked up? That someone can know so much about you and have just a deep connection through similar events and feelings but will never know your face, name, or presence? The more I fall into this pit, the more I try and shake myself out of it. He'd never notice my replies that consist of heart emoji's and over repeated internet slang. It's like I've created a fake hope that this works. Sighing, I put my phone down. The longer I keep the illuminated screen at my nose, the longer I won't be able to sleep. The hotels' bedside clock reads 1:30am, and I let out a prolonged yawn. I have only a few hour drive tomorrow, but I'd like to be home before my roommate can forget to feed my fish another day.

Slowing blinking my eyes, I see the dull colours of the room I resided in for the night. With light seeping through the blinds I grab my glasses from the neatly organized bedside dresser. The objects that were once slightly blurry come into focus, and I remember I'm in Daniel's roommates' room. I really hope she doesn't mind me borrowing her bed while she was gone. Apparently the couch wasn't "good enough" as Daniel put it and that she wouldn't care since I'd be out once my bed comes with the rest of my belongings. I still feel a little bad though, I was crossing a private territory without the owner's trust and word. I haven't even met her and she most likely doesn't know anything of the fact that Daniel was looking for another roommate to help pay the bills. Maybe I can find a way to thank her. From the way the room is decorated, she likes Minecraft. Maybe today Daniel and I can go out to the nearby mall and get her something to add to the collection that's overtaking the small room. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the plans are. Throwing my legs to the edge of the bed and sitting up, I grab the shirt I threw on the floor last night and put it back on my body. It didn't smell bad and I was going to get clean clothes after I shower anyway. While I quickly remake her bed, I hear a slight chuckle from behind me. "You don't have to make her bed, man. She's just going to ruin it when she gets home anyway." Placing the pillow I was fluffing back on the bed, I turn towards the now open door. Daniel leans on the door frame to support the weight of the morning that hasn't caught up with him yet. His half closed lids and faded teal bedhead tell me that he was hungover from last nights' events and was not content with being awake yet. Chuckling at the mess of a man before me, I head out of the room and to the kitchen- slightly bumping him out of the way.
"I haven't even met her yet. I don't want to get off on the wrong foot with her. You've had a hard time looking for a roommate, I don't want my rudeness to be the reason you have to go through that again," I state as I walk down the stairs with the intents of getting coffee started for the slightly wobbly man. I started the Keurig and grabbed a worn out mug to catch the darkness that'll fall, all the while Daniel slowly shuffles to the island that has breakfast bar stools- groaning as he leans on the marbled counter, reaching towards the bowl of bananas. Silence was kind of common between us considering we only met 2 days ago. As I gathered a large mug to make a second coffee, I began to think back to (Y/N). Does she know about the new living arrangement? I hope this doesn't create some tension between them. From what I've been told, they met in grade 10 and have been close friends since. As almost everyone else, I reacted with the classic High School banter and began to pester him if he liked her. Apparently they did long ago but weren't compatible when it came to a romantic and serious relationship. So they remained friends and acted as the others wing-man. It's nice that they can break the social norm by staying friends and helping each other out. You don't get that a lot now a days.
