"Oh god. Where.. Where are we?" Jeana asked, though none of the two knew the answer to it.

"We should probably get outta here before things get worse, Jeana. I'm not gonna last for so long," Alexis croaked, his voice barely audible.

Jeana hadn't been listening at all to him; her focus was distracted by all the amazing redstone circuitry that was happening around the glass corridor.

Hundreds of pistons were moving back and forth to trigger other mechanisms, redstone torches turned on and off -- she definitely had no idea what was happening here, but was amazed anyway.

The glass corridor was placed in the middle of all the redstone, giving access to see all the mechanisms while they were working.

Jeana's eyes widened even more as she looked around more and traced the trails of redstone dusts and repeaters. Alexis, however, was not in that good of a condition to be in awe.

"Jeana.. I really don't feel very good," Alexis said as he weakly pulled Jeana's sleeve.

She looked at Alexis once, then at the massive circuitry of redstone, and reluctantly decided to return to the shelter.

As Jeana was just helping Alexis stand, an ice-cold entity held her shoulder; a hand covered in steel.

And she turned around to find..

~•~

The sun was rising.

Daylight was peeking through the horizon.

Hearing the distant sounds of chickens chanting their usual morning "cock-a-doodle-doo"s, the Husks and the Fourth Squad awoke from their about adequate sleep.

As Alfred was wiping the blurriness off his eyes, he realized Alexis and Jeana had been gone.

"Hey! Where are they? Where are Alexis and Jeana?" he asked in shock.

"I dunno... Where could've they possibly gone to?" Skylar doubled the question.

Alfred quickly mined a two block tall hole out of the shack, with Skylar and Hunter following him from behind.

There were no signs of either Alexis or Jeana around; only a field with a few patches of coarse dirt.

As he was leaving the shack, Hunter's agile reflexes quickly made himself duck under the feeling of air moving behind his neck.

Ignis was attempting to behead Hunter right when he seemed to be off guard; luckily he was not.

"What?!"

"I'd say three on three is a pretty fair fight," Ignis said.

"My Notch, what a bad timing.." Hunter grumbled under his breath.

"You guys are only after me, right!?" Hunter shouted as he jolted back to keep their distance.

"Well, who said so?" Ignis calmly answered while dashing towards Hunter, sword in hand.

"What do you want then?!" Hunter swung his sword to launch an attack on Ignis.

Their swords clashed as the other remaining people then battled.

Hunter knew very well how far the gap between his skills and Ignis's was, and that he wouldn't last long.

Alexis, Jeana, where are you..? he thought as a drop of sweat fell from his cheek.

He had to not lose his focus on this battle; not even once. He'd always wanted to continue living with his friends.

Ignis managed to take Hunter down to the ground as he was thrusting his sword forward.

And the fight arrived in a condition where Hunter was using the middle of his sword to block a deadly strike from Ignis. The muscles he had in his hands weren't strong enough to push Ignis's sword back; it was going to hit him soon.

"What do you want?! Answer me!" he yelled, demanding a reply.

"You'll see."

Hunter gritted his teeth in disappointment and held the attack with all his might, hoping the battle would arrive to a point where he'd pull his sword away.

And it did, and Hunter was just going to stand back up to fight back.

Ignis slashed the sword back down with a greater force, Hunter luckily still able to block it with a more convenient position; he was crouching while holding his sword with both of his hands.

And he let go of all the force he was delivering to that one sword for a moment, only to push it back again to send himself backwards, missing the attack in fortune.

Tch..!

[Author's Note]
So I thought, with a better title and a fresh new start, this book would quickly get a couple of reads in a short period of time. And I was wrong.

I was actually brought back to zero like when Bytes: DotA (I can't possibly just say DotA right lol) was first published.

And that's some new stuff to experience!

[Fun Fact]
The Husks have met three out of four squads of the Shadow Jackals.
