- Prologue -
â??You canâ??t do this to me. This not the first time, you know. You promised me, youâ??ll go to the movie with meâ?, I let out my frustration.
â??I know, Iâ??m sorry. But something came upâ?.
â??Donâ??t tell me itâ??s about Kangin oppa againâ?.
Yuri paused. â??Iâ??m sorry, Sica. Iâ??ll make it up to you, I promise. Gotta go, see you at home. Byeâ?. She hung up.
â??Yuri! Yuri! YA!â? I slams the phone in frustration. Darn, this is so infuriating. Ever since going out with Kangin oppa, she never has time for me anymore. I have become less important.
It has been a while since we went to the movie together. I have been anticipating this day since last week. I even woke up early to the prepare myself. I want to look good for Yuri. But I see betrayed me.
Thatâ??s it; Iâ??m can tolerate this no more. Iâ??m going to make her choose. Me or Kangin oppa. Period.
- Chapter 1 -
I was in my room sleeping when Yuri came in. I heard her coming but pretend to be asleep. She sits on the bed, behind me.
â??Jessica, are you sleeping?â? She taps my shoulder lightly. I made a growling sound but didnâ??t move.
â??Are you still mad at me? Iâ??m sorry about this morning. Kangin oppaâ??s program was suddenly cancelled so he made plans for us. With his busy schedule, it hard too see him these daysâ?.
â??But you promisedâ?, I said from under the blanket.
â??I know. Iâ??m sorry. Tomorrow. Letâ??s go out tomorrow. We do anything you want; watch movies, shopping, eat ice cream, anythingâ?. She sounds so excited.
I push aside the blanket. Sitting with my legs crossed and look at her smiling face. The black pearl; thatâ??s what people calls her. She was given the nickname because of her dark skin. She has a very bright personality and likes to goof around. Itâ??s amazing how people like us, with contradicting personality, are together. I guess thatâ??s the power of opposite attractions.
Although we are at the same age, Yuri was recruited by the academy later than me. To make the learning process easier for new trainees, itâ??s usual to assign them under senior trainees. Usually new trainees are shaken by my cold looks but it was different with her. It doesnâ??t seem to affect her at all. I still remember her bright, cheerful face when she greeted me that day. Although I was the one who supposed to teach her the dance routine, I later noticed that she is the better dancer than me. I admire her dancing skills; itâ??s so powerful yet graceful.
We made a good team because inspire each other. What makes me comfortable around her is the fact that she never makes fun of my Korean pronunciation. I know Iâ??m still lacking in Korean but Iâ??m trying hard to improve it, and Yuri has been very supportive. We have share lots of memories together for the last 3 years.
â??We need to talkâ?, I said. She looks confused. â??About what?â?
â??I donâ??t want to sound cruel, but you give me no choice. I refuse to be the victimâ?. I stop to clear my throat. Yuri looks really confused. She frowns. Before I could continue, her phone rang. She looked at me with sorry eyes before answering.
â??Oppa, still in studio? Me? Oh nothing, just getting ready to sleepâ?. She headed to the door. With her mouth motion, she said sorry to me and walks out.
Frustrated, I scream into the pillow.

I have been ignoring Yuri for 3 days. I officially launched a cold war with her. I guess she has figured out how mad I am by now.
