I woke up, sliding out of bed and got dressed. I headed down to the common room that was mostly empty. A great number of student's had already gone to breakfast. I saw Hermione and the other two just heading out when Ron saw me. "(y/n)! Want to join us for breakfast?" He asked smiling, the other two turning around. I nodded shyly and headed towards them. Us four heading over together. On the way there, we ran into a blonde and his "gang." He stopped us and stood right in front of me, before pushing me up against a wall. "You're a Riddle right?" He asked. "So Riddle me this. How is it that you, a Riddle, made Gryffindor and not Slytherin?" I shrugged, honestly not knowing the big deal. Bad idea. He snarled at me and pushed me harder against the wall, making me yelp slightly. He smirked at my reaction. "Malfoy! Leave her alone!" Hermione yelled. He frowned before smirking again. "And if I don't? Mudblood?" She was fuming at this point. We heard someone clear their throat. We all turn to a lady who tapped her foot impatiently. "What is going on her Mr. Malfoy?" She asked sternly. "Just making friends with the new kid." He said cheekily as he sat me down. "Is this true Miss. Riddle?" She asked. I shook my head. She looked to this Malfoy kid and said seriously. "10 points from Slytherin Draco, and detention with Snape." He groaned before glaring at me and walking away. I hid behind Hermione as he did. We continued on our way to the great hall for breakfast, putting that whole incident behind us for now. As we entered, the whole hall silenced as they looked my way. I looked down embarrassed as we walked to our house table. The talking resumed and everyone continued eating. I just sulked a bit, looking at my plate. Until the two twins from earlier yesterday came and sat in front of me. "So you're the person..." "...everybody has been talking about lately?" They both took turns saying. I nodded slowly. "Names Fred." "And I'm George." They said smiling. "H-hi..." I responded looking down again. "Fred, George. Leave the poor girl alone." Harry said chuckling a bit. They shrugged before heading off smirking.
It came to the end of breakfast, and we were all heading to class. On our way there, we ran into Malfoy and the two goons following him. "Hello Potter." He said, saying Harry's name as if poison on his tongue. "What do you want Malfoy?" Harry growled as he glared. "Well I wanted to know why you're hanging around with this poor excuse of a Riddle?" "Malfoy, she isn't-..." Hermione couldn't finish, as a boy with brown and fluffy hair shouted at Malfoy. "Draco! Stop tormenting the new kid. She did nothing!" The new boy shouted. "Oh hush Lupin! It doesn't concern you! Go put your nose in a book or something." Malfoy spat. "Well actually it does. Considering I'm a prefect. I could take point's if I wanted to." The brunette hissed. Malfoy glared before walking away enraged. "Jayk? Aren't you a Slytherin too?" Ron asked. This Jayk guy sighed. "Yes. But I'd do anything to get that pest away." Jayk sighed, and Ron agreed. "And for the record, I only asked the hat to put me in Slytherin because my friend was put in Slytherin. I was suppose to go to Ravenclaw." He groaned. "I wish I had too..." "Jayk? If you're here, than that means..." Harry trailed off before a girl with long black hair, and wearing Gryffindor robes tackled hugged him. "Harry!" She yelled happily. "Your back!" "J-Jade! Where did you come from?!" Ron shouted, very confused if I may add. "Oh! Ron! Hiya!" She yells. He waved awkwardly. Harry and Jade stand up as Harry shakes his head chuckling. "(y/n), this is our friend Jade. She is professor Snape's daughter." Hermione introduced me to Jade. I smiled and shook her hand. "H-hi..." "Hello!"
We all walked together to classes except Jade and Jayk. She was a seventh year and he was a sixth year. We made it just before time was up. We all sat down by each other taking out our paper/books and quills. Professor Mcgonaglle started teaching today's lesson, I wrote down as many notes as I could considering I WAS 3 YEARS LATE, LIKE SERIOUSLY. I had to take it seriously if I wanted to catch up. Even if Hermione was helping me, I still had to do some on my own. I stand up as class ends, I put my quill and notes away, walking over to the other three who were waiting for me. "Having fun yet (y/n)?" Harry asks. I groan. "Who knew magic could be so hard." I make a sleepy and frustrated look as they laugh. "You'll get used to it." Hermione reassures me. We head out to our next class and thankfully didn't run into Malfoy. Oh was I poorly mistaken. Because when we walked into our next class. There, staring me dead in the eyes with a huge grin, was Malfoy. Harry and the other two had already sat down by the time I looked away from Malfoy's cold stare. There was no where else to sit. Until I looked around. Face going pale as I noticed the only available seat was beside Malfoy. I slowly walk to the seat, trembling a bit as I know what is to come. I sat down beside him in the empty seat. He turns to me and whispers so only I can hear. "Hey Riddle. Riddle me this. How is it that I get to sit beside a Riddle yet they're not a Riddle at all?" "I-I...I don't know?" I shrugged and questioned quietly. He didn't seem to like my answer as he frowned. "Well maybe she's a pathetic excuse for one." He spat turning back to face to front as the professor walks in. I look down, face red from embarrassment and face dropping to a frown from his comment. I didn't pay attention to the rest of the class after that. After going to and from classes and listening and talking to Harry, Ron, and Hermione between those classes, it was finally lunch.
As we entered the great hall for the second time that day, no one really cared I was there this time. This made me kind of relieved as we walked over to our table and filled our plates. Fred and George sat in front of us and a few moments later, so did Jade. She sat beside George who wrapped his arm around her shoulders making her giggle. I smiled a little at seeing how happy they were. "Get a room you two." Fred said laughing slightly at his twin and his girlfriend. George rolled his eyes as Jade laughed at his comment towards them. I continued eating until a boy with longish hair and slightly bucked teeth came and sat beside me. I blushed slightly. Harry looked over from the other side of me at the boy. "Hello Neville. Long time no see." Harry says to the boy who I now know as Neville. "How was your summer?" "It was well, and your's Harry?" He said. His voice was smooth and sounded exhausted. "It was interesting." Harry replied back. "Oh! Neville! This is my friend (y/n)! (y/n) this is my cousin Neville!" Harry introduced us. I nodded to him and he doing the same. He looked at his plate of food but I swore, before he did his cheeks had turned a slight pink hue when he looked at me. Lunch was over and we all headed to our last classes for the day. We sat together for all our classes...except for our last one class. We had potions with Slytherin's and were put into pairs. Professor Snape had put me with Malfoy. I eternally groaned at this as we stood together by our cauldron as professor Snape explained that we were making a truth potion and that we were handing the potion to our partner. I groaned again only out loud this time. We began to mix everything. The potion smelled and looked like what the book described. I was doing an eternal victory dance when Malfoy interrupted. "So Riddle. Can you Riddle me this? Why is it that your so quiet but yet, you annoy me with your very existence?" I looked him dead in the eye with a blank look. "maybe I'm so quiet because I'm plotting how to torture you. And I'm not annoying you with my existence, if any thing, you're annoying me with yours." I then turned back as Snape came over. Malfoy's mouth clenched tightly shut in anger. "So Draco, (y/n). I see you two are done considering all the chatter. Now (y/n), give Malfoy you-..." He was interrupted when someone's potion exploded. He turned around quickly and rushed to the student. "Everyone, class is over early. I have to bring this student to the hospital wing. Now, get out of my hair." Everyone hurried to pack and leave as Snape left with the student. I rushed out and headed to the Gryffindor common room.
I go upstairs to my room as there was still an hour before dinner. I lied down on my back and closed my eyes. I thought about today and all that happened. My thought's slowly wondered to that boy I met named Neville. I blushed a bit and opened my eyes. I looked to my alarm clock, the only muggle ting allowed, and saw I had fifteen minutes until dinner. I sat up sighing and fixed my robes as I headed down to the common room. It was nearly empty as student's started to head to dinner. I saw the other three and headed over to them. "Hey guys. Ready for dinner?" I asked. They nodded and we headed over to the moving stair case's to get to the great hall. We step onto it and then off to reach our destinations. At dinner we sat with Fred, George, Jade (who was sitting with George), and Neville (who was sitting with (y/n) ). I was blushing a little from him being so close. So I hid my face with my hair and ate. "So (y/n)? Saw you got stuck with Malfoy during potions. How was it?" Neville asked me. "I-it was interesting." "Heard you told him off." Fred interjected. I shrugged. "I-I guess..." My face getting redder from all the questions. After dinner we got up and headed out. The boys going back to the common room as Hermione and I go to the library to help me catch up a bit. We study and work for awhile before heading back to the common room seeing the time. When we arrive, we instantly head to our rooms and go to bed.
