The Attack (Part 2)

"So, are we going to talk about what happened outside?" Stacy asked, trying to concentrate through all that pain. " Talk about what?" Samuel responded, looking around the room to find something else to talk about. " What the hell did you do?! I doubt anyone has the strength to flick a rock and break down a door!" Stacy exclaimed, trying to find some sort of explanation for this predicament. "I don't know. I am still trying to wrap my head around it. Every single thing around me just slowed down as soon as you threw the rock at me. When I caught the rock, everything around me returned to normal." Samuel stammered as he tried to remember his feelings and actions. "But the weirdest thing that happened was at the moment I flicked the rock towards you." "What do you mean? What could be weirder than the whole world slowing down?" Stacy remarked, entranced by this whole conversation. "As soon as I flicked the rock towards you, I felt a strong jolt of electricity course through my body and reached my hand. When my finger hit the rock, that jolt of electricity came out of my finger and propelled itself on to the rock!" Stacy stared at Samuel, trying to think of some sort of logical solution to this. "Perhaps it was adrenaline pumping through you veins or some other hormone. I mean, you couldn't have had electricity going through you. There is no way anyone could have-" All of a sudden, there was screaming outside their cabin. As soon as they heard the commotion, they ran outside. Samuel and Stacy both saw the bloodthirsty machines killing anyone they could see. No one was safe from these machines. They saw their friends getting shot down by these machines. "Come on! We have to help them!" bellowed Samuel as he ran through the burning pile of wood that used to be Stacy's home. Samuel saw a family cornered on the wall of the community. He ran towards the robot and pushed it down. The machine struggled to get up, but started sputtering and shaking. Then, all of a sudden, the lights within the robot flickered and died off. "How the hell did you do that?" Stacy remarked, obviously baffled at that sight. " I don't know! All I did was just push the robot down!" " Thank you, thank you so much!" sobbed the mother as she ran towards the exit of the community with her children. "Samuel, behind you!" yelled Stacy as she ran towards the robot behind Samuel, ready to push him down to dodge the machine's attack. When Stacy pushed Samuel down, she accidentally grazed the robot with her hand. Once the robot was touched, the robot started shaking uncontrollably. Once the robot fell on the ground, a weird brown substance started spreading throughout its body. "Is that rust on its body?" proclaimed Samuel, as he started to stand up, moving Stacy off of him. "How did I just do that?" Stacy asked, clearly terrified. "I don't know, but we got to get out of here. Everyone else already escaped this area, and we need to find out what is happening to us." Samuel explained. They both got up and started to run to the exit of the community and into the forest near the town.
