Gabe
Boring. Totally, utterly, despairingly boring. I tap the end of my pencil to the notebook in front of me. Math isn't my favorite subject but I still have to be here. Sitting, watching. I should get an A for just staying awake during the teachers lectures.I let out a quiet sigh of boredom and begin to jot things down in the book. Eventually the notes turned into doodles and before I knew it the bell rang, releasing me from my boredom. I stood up and stretched, gathering my things.
"Sup Gabe." My friend Maesi chimed walking up with Liz.
"Sup." I say throwing my backpack onto my shoulder. We begin walking to lunch talking about memes and stuff.
"Yo Gabe, there's a new student in our band class." Liz said looking at me expectingly, "And he's a boy." She then proceeds to smirk. I feel my face begin to heat up. Liz knew about my sexuality before anyone else.
"Yeah and I heard he plays a brass instrument like you, but I'm not sure which one though." Maesi adds, why do these guys like teasing me? I internally groan. After lunch we walk to band, I enter the back room and get on my tip toes to reach my instrument.
As I reach for it however I begin to loose my footing and fall. I close my eyes, expecting to hit the ground but the instead I feel a hand wrap around my wrist. I open my eyes and look into the eyes of a dirty blonde haired boy with square black rimmed glasses and blue eyes.
I feel my face heat up once again and begin to laugh out of embarrassment. "Are you okay?" He asks concern filling his eyes.
"Y-yeah." I say brushing invisible dirt off my pants. He smiles and grabs my trumpet case for me.
"Here." He says.
"T-thanks..." I mumble shying away.
"Shiiipp, ship, ship, shiiiiippp!" Maesi yells dancing around. My red face becomes even redder and I covered it with my hands.
"Shuuutt uuupp..." I groaned into my hands. She laughed grabbing her clarinet and then leaving. The boy who had saved me was red in the face as well. He looked so....adorable.
"A-anyways glad you're okay." He then grabs his trombone and began putting it together. I watch in a daze as he rushes to put the instrument together. Once he finishes he rushes out and to his seat his cheeks still a dark pink.
I grabbed my trumpet and walked to my seat by Liz. "Maesi and Annie said that you and the new kid are otp af."
"W-what?!" I yelped growing red. Me and my stupid blushing!
"Yep, I ship it too." She chuckled, continuing to practice a song. I sigh and lift my trumpet I look to my right and spot the boy in the trombone section.
"Ooo, Gabe's checking out the new boy?!" I heard Annie gasp.
"Hush it!" I yelled. She proceeded to burst into a fit of laughter. She quickly seizes it and leans down to my sitting figure.
"His name's Gavin by the way, he's in my fourth period." She then winks and goes to sit down. I groan in displeasure as I know Katelyn was going to not only tell me my memes are stale but tease me for liking the new guy.
The rest of band I kept thinking about the bo- I mean Gavin. I should start using his name I guess. My eyes would dart to where he was and I would stare until Liz snapped me back to reality.
Maybe life won't be so bland. I felt someone staring at me so I began scanning the room until my eyes caught those of Gavin's and he quickly turned his head away from me.
Oh jeez.... I thought shaking my head.
"You alright there Gabe?" Liz asked shaking my shoulder for the umpteenth time this class period.
"Y-yeah, I'm perfectly fine." I mumbled continuing on the measure we were on. Liz sighed and began playing again.
The bell rang and I rushed to my spot in jazz band which would be right in front of Gavin. Maesi sat next to Gavin though which only means bad things for me.

Just as I thought, during breaks where we could talk Maesi would talk to him. I don't know what they were talking about and that's what bothered me the most.
What if Maesi is telling him about my small crush on him?
She wouldn't do that.
How do you know! As the battle in my head carried on I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to be greeted by Gavin.
"We're playing now."
"U-uh, thanks." I blushed and raise my trumpet. I began playing the song but tuned everything out except Gavin's playing. It was nice and in tune (A/n: That's important for us and kids btw).
The day ended pretty nicely. Me and Maesi talked some on the way to the bus. "I think you and Gavin would make a cute couple." She said laughing a bit.
"R-really?"
"Yep, cutest couple ever!"
"We're not a couple though!"
"For now, but I have a feeling you'll become a couple in the not so distant future." She smiled. I became flustered and took my seat on the bus. Would we really become a couple soon?
