"Call me the Purple Man..."

T H E K I L L E R

By eleven in the morning, the reserved pizzeria was packed with laughing, smiling children. A small crowd of them giddily smiled around Pirate Cove as Foxy put on a small play to entertain them.

Pirate Cove was a medium sized secluded area to the left of the party room. It was hidden behind a ball pit and the arcade room, which Bonnie occasionally visited. If the lights were out, Pirate Cove would be pitch black, cloaked in darkness.

You were about to leave to go find Georgia, but before you could, a familiar figure caught your eye. He was hidden in a dark corner of Pirate Cove, flashing a creepy smile once he caught my gaze. He held something in his hand, something sharp. Then you realise what it was. A knife.

"Hey, honey, are you enjoying the party?" A warm hand rested on your shoulder, and you broke your stare to look up at your mother who was smiling down at you.

"Huh..." It took you a moment to comprehend what was being asked. "...Yeah, mum, I'm having fun!" You flashed a fake smile.

"That's good." She nodded. "You were just staring at nothing, I thought I'd check on you." She explained.

You looked back to the dark corner of Pirate Cove, but once again, he was gone. You wondered where the man in the purple shirt went. Or even if he existed at all.

"Well," Your mum continued. "We're opening presents soon, so get ready." She ruffled your hair before walking away.

You blinked several times, but he didn't appear again. Something about him put you off. But you weren't going to let it ruin your party.

With a new spring to your step, you followed in your mothers tracks, prepared to open your presents.

Everyone gathered around as you excitedly ripped open your presents. You loved every one of them. Georgia bought you a necklace with your favourite animal on it. She knew how much you loved (F|A).

You thanked everyone, giving them hugs. You put the necklace on and a bunch of your friends practically dragged you over to the front of the party room. The crew were getting ready for their show.

Every year this happened. This will be the ninth show dedicated to you from the animatronics.

"Before the show starts," you looked up eagerly as Freddy started talking. "We'd like to wish our dear friend (Y|N) a happy birthday." He smiled at you, along with the ret of the crew.

Bonnie held his hand out to you, and you eagerly except it as he helps you on the stage.

"Happy ninth birthday!" They all say at once, and Chica hands you a neatly wrapped box with a bow on it.

"Don't tell the others this, but you're our favourite." Bonnie whispers causing you to chuckle.

You open the present, and to nobody's surprise, your welcomed by the sent of a freshly baked cupcake. Every year it's the same present, but every year you thank them with a hug. You loved it.

The show went on, they sang you Happy Birthday before they started singing their own songs, keeping the crowd if children entertained.

You glanced over to Pirate Cove, and a small crowd of five children sat there, waiting for Foxy to come back on stage. You knew the children there quite well, you hung out with them a lot at school, so you decided to join them. The closer you got though, the less motivated you felt to go there. Why?

Something was off. You weren't sure what, but it made you feel sick in a way.

Before you got to Pirate Cove, you saw the man again. He was walking away from the stage, getting closer and closer to you. You wanted to back away, but you couldn't move.

He walked straight past you.

You found the courage to finally speak up. "W-who are you?" You barely managed to utter. Everything was screaming at you not to speak to this man, but you couldn't help it. You needed to know.

He stopped in his tracks, and turned. He flashed that creepy smile. You regretted ever saying anything. "Hello, (Y|N)..." The very fact he knew your name sent another shiver down your spine. The air felt cold. "You can call me the Purple Man." He whispered, before continuing to walk away, spinning his knife in one hand whilst whistling.

The Purple Man...

It was eerily quiet when you continued to make your way to Pirate Cove. You suddenly didn't want anything to do with being here. You wanted to run away. But something kept pushing you to go on.

"Hello...?" You whispered, just before peeking around the corner of the arcade room.

You immediately regretted it.

Disfigured bodies covered in blood had been twisted and looked to be bashed to death. Stab wounds were visible all over their bodies, and you felt tears blur your vision.

A tall, slim figure emerged from the shadows and looked to you. A puppet. His face held no emotions, but he spoke in whispers. "The work of the Purple Man..."

You couldn't speak. You were shaking, tears sliding down your cheeks. You couldn't even move. You were afraid if you were I blink, you'd only be reminded of the image you just saw.

The puppet neared you. He didn't seem to want to hurt you. "Hush child. He is gone, he cannot hurt you."

You managed to nod, and the puppet reached out to touch you, but before he could you ran as fast as your legs could take you to your parents.

"Honey, what's wrong, why are you crying?" Your mother immediately stood after seeing the state you were in. You wiped your tears away before grabbing her hand and running to where you saw the haunting images of your friends.

But when you looked again, they were gone. There wasn't even any blood left behind. This wasn't all just some crazy hallucination, was it? The Purple Man... Your friends...

No. It wasn't.

"What is it?" Your mum was looking around, trying to look for anything out of the ordinary but she found nothing.

"There... Them... They were there!" You exclaimed, pointing to the floorboards where nothing was. "Right there!" You felt the tears coming again.

"Honey," your mum kneeled down. "You're just tired. Maybe it's time to go home." She smiled.

Maybe she was right. Maybe you were just tired. This wasn't real. The Purple Guy wasn't real, and neither was the puppet.

"O-okay..." You whispered as your mum wiped away your tears.

"Let's get you home, then." She ruffled up your hair and led you to the party room.

But your mum was wrong. So were you.

Because that day, five children didn't come home. That day, five children went missing.
