chapter 11

so, today i had decided to chill out. gray came over this morning and we have just been hanging out all day really.
"im hungry." i randomly blurted out.
"Starbucks?" he asked getting up.
"let's go!"
we got into the car and blasted the music. we were jamming out to the weekend.
"OH SHIT!" i yelled.
"WHAT?!" he screamed slamming on the brakes.
"isn't ethan proposing to ellie tonight!?" i asked laughing nervously.
"oh shit. you're right." he said stopping at the red light running his hands through his hair.
"what are we doing? are we going?" he asked wondering looking a little panicked.
"i think we are going out with them, then he's just gonna do it and we can get it on video."
"wow sounds like a plan." he said while pulling up to the window at Starbucks.
"what do you want?" he asked quietly so he could here the lady speaking into the speaker.
"i'll just have a caramel frappucino." i said kissing him on the cheek. we ordered our drinks and went back to my apartment. i called ethan wondering where we were going and what was happening.
"hey ethan! um just wondering what is happening tonight, you know. since your proposing.?"
"well, you guys don't have to get dressed up really fancy. we are all going to the beach area and then i'll just do it then."
"okay, sounds gucci! see you later!" i said hanging up.
"so, we don't need to dress up that much, but we gotta make it special. and whatever you do, DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT!" i said gripping his shirt as i pulled him in.
"yes ma'am!" he said like a soldier.
"well, im going to get beautiful!"
"that's not possible." he said with a straight face as he looked at me.
"huh?" i said confused.
"you already are beautiful. you can't possibly get anymore gorgeous than this." he said grabbing my waist as he pulled me into a passionate kiss.
"you definitely know how to melt a girls heart." i said walking away laughing to myself.
i walked into my room and grabbed an outfit out of my closet that i set up this morning.
"oh my frick frack!" grayson said as his jaw dropped a little.
"ya know, this is the millionth time i have said this. but im glad i spilt my 6 dollar drink at Starbucks. lucky to have you." he said nudging me a little bit.
"yeah, i know." i said with a serious face.
"just kidding, love youuu!" as i kissed his cheek.
"okay, let's go and see my brother hopefully not screw things up!" he said clapping.
"okay, that was rude. but also kind of funny.." i said trying not to laugh.
"all ellie knows is that we are going to the beach and eating." grayson said in the car and moving his hands around like we were getting a  game plan together.
"yes coach Grayson!" i said rolling my eyes playfully a little bit.
"not nice!" he said pouting.
"aw, you know i love you." i said gripping his cheeks into a squishy face.
"oh man, there they are!!!" i said looking like i was going to explode with excitement.
"chill." he said putting a hand on my shoulder. i laughed at the seriousness.
"okay, im chill." i said throwing my sunglasses on. as i got out of the car, i tripped.
"yeah, definitely chill." grayson said laughing me as he interlocked his hands with mine.

so, we finally finished dinner and it was time to head down to the beaches. ethan looked so nervous but we could tell that he was excited.
"hey, no need to worry. she'll obviously say yes." i quietly said to him as we walked out down to the beach.
"thanks maci. maybe one day, this will be you and gray.." he said mumbling under his breath a little.
"huh?" i said confused.
"oh nothing!" he said laughing and walking away. i acted dumb just so it would look like i didn't know. i looked at grayson and it made me think. maybe. it was finally time for ethan to propose. grayson looked happy. i was happy for both of them.
"oh shit. here we go." i said as i started filming, trying to get the phone at a good angle. ethan was talking to ellie and she looked at gray and i laughing and starting to cry a little. ethan finally got on one knee, reached into his pocket and pulled out a box. the sun was setting, but the box opened and the light caught a sparkle off the ring. i was screaming and grayson was clapping. other people were cheering. we saw her nodding her head in excitement and i was cheering so loud, i think my esophagus exploded. ethan put a ring on it. ellie came running over to me.
"did you know about this?!" she said crying while she was hugging me.
"yes i knew about this! congratulations to my best friend ever!" i said grabbing her hands and looking at the ring.
"this is beautiful! oh my goodness!" i said in shock. she giggled a little.
"i can't believe it! you can become my sister in law. omg. you have to become my sister in law. when. how about he just proposes now?!" she said in a whisper tone.
"slow done. he's not gonna propose now. we are just waiting. at least i hope so." i said anxiously but laughing a little bit.
"don't even say that! he obviously will. he gave you a promise ring and everything!" she said holding my hands.
"trust me, it won't be long." she said hugging me. i turned towards grayson and ethan talking  and laughing.
"you ready to head out?" i asked grayson as i said rested my head on his arm.
"yup!" he said popping his p sound.
"well, you two lovebirds have a good time tonight. oh, here's your hotel room card." grayson said laughing as he walked away. i turned around and gave ellie a wink and she laughed.
"wait up! wait up!" i yelled as i jumped on graysons back.
"wanna stay at my house tonight?" grayson asked.
"yeah, pleaseeeee." i said yawning as i leaned my head on his shoulder in the car.
"tired little bunny, aren't you?" he chuckled a little.
"yes. tonight was a success, not gonna lie." i said clapping my hands.
"yes it was. glad i could help my brother not ruin his life." he said laughing really loud at his own joke.
"your so mean." i said with a smirk as i tried not to snicker. we got back to the apartment and i sighed.
"maybe he could help me out and return the favor sometime." he said raising his eyebrows.
"hmm." i said trying to act dumb, knowing what he was talking about inside my mind though.
"maybe." i said changing and falling asleep.
