People lived in that apartment for years, and I was one of them.
They repainted the walls to make them look brand new, but they'd always remain old walls, old but full of secrets.
I wonder how many people broke down crying and screaming in front of those walls, I wonder how many depressed people thought about dying, how many destroyed relationships and marriages gone wrong those walls have seen.
Yet those walls were the only home I knew back then, my secrets reside within those walls, and I know for sure that they will never be spilled.
To be in a home full of parents with high expectations, little children looking up to you when you were still a growing child forces you to shut down.
Those white walls painted with a fresh coat of white, saw all that I did, all that was said. I'd be more afraid if they came alive and told the world all that it contained, but I know that for now until the day that they are destroyed I can continue living and seeking refuge elsewhere.
