Backseat Serenade - Kellic

Chapter 3

Once we got back to San Diego, Mike and I went home to mama and papas to say hi to them. We haven't seen them in months since we've been on tour.

It's great to be back but I'm seriously going to miss playing shows.

I love to play, playing and performing is my passion. I live for the fans. I've been playing since I was a kid. Papa thought me and Mike how to play our instruments. It's been a dream to play in front of people and it's all I've ever wanted to too.

I'm living the dream.

"Oh my boys!" I heard mama screech with joy, as she hugged us.

"Hey mama" Mike and I said to her.

"Come in and tell us everything!" and she motioned for us to come inside.

We followed her short stature into the house and we were greeted by papa as well.

"Hey papa" we said.

"Come on tell us everything" mama cut in.

Mike and I spend the next few hours telling them all about the tour. And about the songs I was writing while on the tour.

They seemed trilled. I loved my parents they're so supportive of Mike and I's career choice.

Well they weren't thrilled when Mike and I dropped out of college to do this, but college was just not giving me what I needed. It's not what I wanted to do. My passion was music and I saw it as a waste to spend that time learning stuff that's irrelevant to me.

"Well how about some dinner?" Mama said to us.

As she takes out the burrito stuff and she starts making them.

Once she finished we all sat around and stated eating them. But my phone staring ringing.

"Excuse me" I said and I stepped out of them room to take the call. It was from our tour manager.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked into the phone

"Yeah, we worked everything out and you guys can go in tour with All Time Low, but you guys need to get in the studio and start recording new songs"
He said to me.

"That's great, can't wait. Any ideas when that's happening? I know we're going to go in there in a couple days to start with all that." I told him.

"Uh yeah, it's going to be starting in November of next year and ending in February. We're hoping that you guys will have an that next album out soon" he stated.

"Alright, we'll get going on that I assure you, but for now I got to go I'm sorry" I said.

"Ok I understand, see you guys"

And we ended that. I quickly texted Alex saying that we're going to go on tour with them for the album. Then I went back with my family and I told Mike he was thrilled about it.

And I also texted the guys too. They got back to me quickly. Then I got a response from Alex and the the other guys of ATL. It was cool.

Now Mike and I still live with our parents because we're away throughout most of the year, every year, that it's almost not worth buying our own places, yet.

We're here for about a month and we have to get at least half he album recorded and edited before our next tour in two months.

After a while I retreated to my childhood room and just tried to relax a bit, and wind down from tour.

So I look through my social media, mostly Twitter, I read comments and I occasionally respond to some fans.

Lately I've noticed that a lot of fans want us to do a song with the lead singer of Sleeping with Sirens, Kellin Quinn. They think that we'd get along and sound great on a song together.

I've often thought about having some featured artists on this new album, maybe I'd be a good idea. I'll have to see when I have the right song.

I have never met them, I have heard one or two of their songs and their really good, so I'll have to really think about this.

Once I was done with that I decided to maybe do some last minute checking on the new songs I've written, and edit them if they needed it. And I started to thinking, and that ended up with me writing a new song, or some lines for a new song.

But I quickly grabbed my guitar and started to play a rhythm for these line and I really like this.

It's started to sound good.

"Just can't stop can you?" Mike chuckled as he stood at my doorway.

"No, not really, but I think I got something for a new song for the next album. Want to hear?"

"Sure" he said coming inside my room.

I started strumming and then I sang the few words I had written.

"Yeah this has a cool sound" Mike said.

"Yeah, I also think that maybe we should have a few featured singers, I keep getting tweets that we should collab with Sleeping With Sirens" I told him.

"We should you guys would sound really good together" he agreed.

Then he got up and left, while I continued to work on this new piece. But while I was working on it. I started to invision another singer singing some parts.

The next day we were in the studio, playing and recording our little hearts out.

I eventually told the guys about the new song and that I was thinking of having another singer sing it with me. They're totally on board with it. So I decided to tweet Kellin and ask if he'd want to be featured on a song with us.

We spent all day in the studio, and only recorded four songs out of the six we had that were ready.

I'm very picky when it comes to recording songs. It took two hours to record each song. I make sure that each one is perfect. Call me a perfectionist, call me OCD, but the songs have to be perfect and sound right before we move on, and that were all happy with each one.

We left the studio for the day, and we headed home. But we'll be back tomorrow to finish the one what have too.

But on the way home I got a tweet from Kellin Quinn saying that he'd like to do the song with us and that he was a fan of our music etc. So I was happy with that, but now it's my turn to do homework. I looked up more about their music and I listened to some songs and everything. Now I didn't know really anything about them. Not what they looked like or really what they sounded like out side the two I already knew.

I was shocked they're amazing and they all look really good. Ok I'll admit this Kellin, was attractive, and has a great voice.

I'm not going to admit that I've been questioning, but I have. And guys can't know. They'll just tease about it non stop.
