Terry just stood there without saying anything. It looked like she was struck speechless. No one said anything, just waited for her reaction. Finally, she said:

"Serene, can you please explain what, in the name of Goddess is going on?"

"We-eeell... how should I put it... umm... Mum's back?" that came out more like a question it-self than an answer.

I looked towards Alexander and mum  for some help, but didn't get any. Terry looked even more shocked.

"How can this be? She wasn't here for 12 years and she didn't change at all! Serry, how can you not see that this is some kind of trick they're playing on you. I'm sorry but you know yourself that your mother is dead. She was killed by that vampire." She looked at me with sympathy in her gase, as if I was a poor girl deceived that my mother was alive and this really got on my nerves.

"Terry open your eyes and look! Only then say that I've gone delusional!" I almost shouted.

She looked towards my mother, realle looked, and froze. "But how can this be? Serry, listen to me, it's probably some new vampire trick, don't belive in this."

I looked hopelessly towards my mother and raised a brow. She sighed and stood up.

"Terry, I know this is hard to belive, but it really is me. I was the one that helped you with that flower pot that you broke when you were three and I was the one that looked after you while your parents were at work." I remembered the incident with the flower pot.

Terry was running around the house trying to find me while we played hide and seek at her house, and then she lost her balance and broke her mothers favourite vase. She was crying and saying that her mum will be really upset and angry, that was when my mum found her and helped Terry glue the vase together. No one knew about this except us four.

"How-?"Terry started.

"It is me. Alexander was telling you the truth about the greek Gods. I am Artemis the goddess of hunt. Your family has been helping me and Serene for so long. I'm sorry that you haven't known any of this. But I guess it was better this way, at least you leaved a safer, more oblivious life..." she trailed off.

Terry stepped up, "Safer? Do you even know the dangers that Serry goes through every day! She was on a vampire killing spree, trying to find the one that "killed" you, as we presumed, and now, after 12 years of not hearing from you, you come back and tell us about "Safe" life? Do you know how Serry cried every night for the first few years after you were gone?! Get real!"

I've never seen her look so angry, but on the other hand those were the exact same things that I wanted to say to my mother when I first saw her.

I stood up. "Mom, I'll take it from here, no need to tell the same story twice. Please excuse us for a few minutes."

I walked towards the door grabbing Terry's hand and dragging her after me in the process towards our massive kitchen. I sat her on one of the bar stools beside the island in the middle of the kinchen, got two sodas and took a seat across from her.

"Calm down Terry. You know that I would have asked her the exact same thing. Anyway, I'll tell you everything you've missed so far so don't interrupt." Seeing that she was about to do just that I lifted my hand in a stop and said "Don't."

She didn't interrupt and listened as I recountered the night's event. Few times her eyes widened and she gave a few shocked gasps, but still didn't interrupt. After I was finished I looked up at her expextantly.

"Sooo..." I dragged to feel the silence that folowed. Terry sat still with her jaw hanging open. It was quiet a comical picture, and probaly because of all the nerves and shock I started laughing a little histerically. I knew I had to stop myself before I lost control. Somehow I managed to regain my composture and waited.
