Yay Chapter Three finally! Gee Anna it took you ages to finally get back to this book! I KNOW RIGHT but yeah I took on the challenge of updating several books so here you have it is a new chapter. Cat and I trudged through the field, careful to go in the direction the grass was waving so the stirring grass wasn't a COMPLETE givaway. I stumbled into a clearing where a huge pile of equipment lay. Me and Cat looked around, seeing nobody was here and we sprinted out, and quietly sifted through the pile. I grabbed a slingshot, bag of rocks, food, map, and an ax that had a case I could sling on my back. I out everything I collected in the backpack and go to Cat, seeing she equipped herself with weapons. "I got the other basic needs, now lets go." I whisper to her and we quietly creep back into the grass, as soon as I enter the grass behind Cat two people sprint towards the pile and start sifting. Too bad for them since we took all the goodies. I decide to divert them from our path and slingshot a rock to the other side of the clearing where they go to investigate.
"Come on let's follow them and ally with them!" Cat whispers excitedly. I nod and she leads the way around the clearing, we soon bump right into them both. Literally. Now that we were up close they were a boy and a girl, both American. We all got startled but we soon laugh. "Looking for allies?" I say to them and they nod. "I'm Autumn, and thats Catherine." The red haired girl introduces them both, "That is Ethan, and I'm Amelia." I nod and we all start to head through the field talking in a low voice.
"So where did you guys start?" I ask and they point to a mountain risin in the distance to the right. We point out on the map I got to a thick forest beyond the river we traveled.
We all trudge across the field and me and Amelia dug a little den in a hillside during the evening while Cat and Ethan went collecting branches and rocks. When they get back we baracade the small entrance, and settle down. I sit where the moonlight shines in and study the map, but something is awfully strange. I hold it up to the moon and glowing specks appear. "Checkpoints!" I whisper excitedly. Cat looks at me questioned and they all hover around me and look at the specks. "They are the checkpoints, and the black ones are creatures. They dim when the checkpoint is cleared. It all makes sense." Ethan says quietly, we hand the map around and then Cat says, "Who wants to explain the huge swarm of black dots on the other side of the map, they are seriously running all over that one little spot. I shake my head, "Sounds like somebody stayed outside a bit to late. Night time is WAY to dangerous, just let the creatures be." They all nod and we soon sleep, Cat on first shift studying the map for any danger.
