BEEP BEEP BEEP... Sounded Kayla's alarm clock. She looked over and groaned. It read 6:30. She had to be at her desk in homeroom at 8:05. She rolled out of bed and landed on the on the floor with a thud. Kayla moaned and rolled over to stare at her ceiling. She stood up and walked over to her full length mirror on her closet door. She admired how good she looked in her reflection. She had light brown hair that reached middle of her back. Her eyes were bright green. She was tan from all the time she spent outside around the pool or motocross track. She was 5'4", which was short for a girl in her grade.
Today was the first day back to school. It was her first year of high school. Kayla kept on thinking about all the drama that would be the start of her freshman year. She had turned 15 on July, 18th. She was excited to see all of her old friends. She hasn't seen most of them since the last day of school. Kayla has been trying to improve her motocross skills. She has had races ever since the beginning of summer. Every Saturday morning she has a race. When she's not racing, she's practicing.Kayla grabs her phone and snapchats before she gets ready. She slips on a black and blue fox shirt with a pair of white joggers. She personally chooses vans over converse any day of the week. She then puts on her black vans. She takes out her messy bun and lets it fall down to the middle of her back. Kayla never likes to wear makeup, because she thinks that she looks too perfect with it on. So she just goes downstairs to see her dad cooking both of them breakfast. "So I heard a bang this morning when I was down here." he says to me. "Sorry dad, I rolled out of bed thinking of how much Im going to dread going back to school." I understand what your saying baby. You may not believe it now but I was your age once." " oh come on dad, your not that old you know?" "35 is putting a toll on me." "what ever floats your boat dad." I replied. "Well I would love to stay and talk to my baby girl all day, but I have a job to get to. Make sure you get out the door by 7:25. And don't forget to lock the door. We don't want anything to happen like last time, would we?" "No dad. I will remember this time." I said with a grin. He is referring to the time when she was rushing to get out the door, and forgot to lock it. It was also cracked a little. When she got home from school, there was a family reunion of squirrels in their house. "I love you baby. Have a good day at school." "Thanks dad. Have a good day at work." And with that he was gone out the door. She ate the eggs and bacon in front of her.
She ran up the stairs and into her bedroom. She read the clock on her bed stand. It read 7:05. She had 20 minutes until she had to get out the door. Kayla laid on her bed to think while she had time. She was missing her mom. Kayla's mom left last year after she had an affair with one of her coworkers and left Kayla and Kayla's father, Jim. She just laid there and thought about how much she wanted a little sibling. She had no one to share her dad and stuff with. Jim was a successful lawyer. Kayla and her father shared a 3 story house. It was a 8 bedroom home, with 6 bathrooms. Kayla's walls in her room was a light teal color. She had a queen mattress that was 7 levels of memory foam. She had a monster energy bed set. Her bed stand had a motocross lamp with junk all in the drawer. She had her own bathroom with a huge counter, and her shower was a step in covered with rocks to look like a waterfall when it was running. Her walls in the bathroom was a dusty pink. She got up and walked to her window and looked out. Her room was on the second floor. She had a lookout porch in her room. She stepped out and over looked their property. She had her dad make a motocross track outside in their backyard. Kayla stepped back inside and noticed that it was time to leave. She grabbed her backpack and left out the door, remembering to lock the door.
