Crash! The truck rammed into the car.
_______________________________"Baby, I love you so much and I hate this as much as you do, but please let me go," he whispers, tears in his eyes, "I have been staying alive for so long, to be with you, but it hurts to stay, I'm in so much pain."
Sobbing, she nods, not able to speak, and hugs him, as she gives the doctor a sign to pull the plug.
________________________________Courtney walks through the pouring rain, an umbrella covering her head. Walking through the graveyard, she goes to straight to the grave she's come for, one that she has visited countless time before. She was coming here every Thursday, since the incident. She stops in front of it, smiling softly, as tears brim her eyes.
Aiden Calvin Gush
1990-2015
Loving son, brother, cousin, fiancé, and friend"Hey," she whispered, scared she won't be able to control her tears.
It happened every other time, her bursting into tears as soon as she'd tried to talk.
"I miss you," she laughs humorlessly, "You must be tired of hearing me tell you the same things over and over again."
She was always like this, thinking she had no value and only took up space. Growing up, she was never truly happy. Her life was filled with insecurities. After her mother died after giving birth to her, she lived with her grandmother. Living there was simply hell. Her grandmother was judgmental and a horrible human being. She always took her anger out on Courtney and blamed her for her daughter's death. Country had no father. He'd walked out on her mother, when he learnt of the pregnancy.
She was always a curvy girl, which added to her insecurities, growing up. She's always look at the skinny girls, and wished she could've been like them. Of course, her grandmother rubbed this in her face too. She was always being compared to her cousins, friends, and just about anybody else. When Aiden came along and proved her wrong by showing her how much he loved her and how beautiful he thought she was, she learnt to love herself and actually be happy. After Aiden went away to the other side of the world, however, she turned back the same way, thinking it was because he loved someone like her, God took him away. She was being punished, for killing her mother at birth, or at least that's what her 'grandmother' told her.
Closing her eyes, she thinks about the first time she saw him. She was feeling as though it was only yesterday she'd first set eyes on him. He stood out from the crowd easily, to her eyes. He was like one of those mouth-watering, good looking models, with his black hair and bright blue eyes. He was definitely gorgeous, getting attention from both genders anywhere he went.
Taking a deep breath, she opens her eyes, not bothering to hide the pain in them. "You know, since you've been gone, my life had changed. Everything seems so dull without you. I remember when you came, it was as if everything suddenly got better, and prettier. Somehow, you even made someone like me look good in this world. You were like the light at the end of my tunnel, as cheesy as it sounds.
She sniffles, "In two days, it's my birthday, and your death anniversary. Ironic, isn't it? I remember two years ago how you surprised me, with flowers and everything."By this time, Courtney is in full sobs.
"God, sometimes I wonder if I'd left the life plug, if you'd be here. And sometimes, I feel I did the right thing, as though you're in a better place. It kills me even more, every time I think about us fighting just before you got into the accident. It breaks my heart every time I think of our good times and then how they ended. But I guess everything works out for the best. On Monday, I even started sessions with a therapist. She's very supportive. We're even great friends outside. It helps to let everything out of your mind, every once in a while. I'm actually going right now. And I just wanted to remind you, that I love you so much. I'm gonna be here next Thursday, again."
Suddenly, a warmth comes over her and she feels a twang of happiness. Out of nowhere, red flowers drops on her and she hears a gasp.
"I'm so sorry, miss."
Turning around, she gasps herself, as she saw almost the same blue eyes and black hair that had her grieving for so long.
