She knew there was something off about his smile...

Waichirou had been gone for... What? How many days? An entire week? Oh, Lord....

It felt longer to Erza.

Not long after Erza's last assignment, it was heard around the organization that Waichirou departed for an important, but undisclosed task. He didn't bother to tell anyone goodbye... Not even the spy he seemed to take such a personal interest in.

Erza sat all by her lonesome in her pretty much vacant dorm, just thinking of all the crazy situations Waichirou could've gotten himself into. Perhaps he went on some super-secret one-week shopping spree to buy all the latest classy shoes he adored so much....

Not dwelling on him was alot harder than Erza ever imagined it would be. She tried keeping herself occupied by trying to learn more about how to control her insane power, but that only made her miss Waichirou more. After all, he was the one who always pushed her to do so.

Concentration was beginning to become downright impossible for Erza...and that nearly frightened her. If she didn't get a grip, she could slowly turn into nothing but a soulless monster.

Erza shivered.

And to make matters worse...that thing that almost happened was still lingering in her mind. 💧

Speaking of minds...

Surely there were many more Mind-Readers running around the city by each passing day, yet not one spy was allowed to go outside MRSA walls until their boss returned.

Erza fell backwards onto the bed and exhaled. She gathered the sheets in between lusty fingers, biting her bottom lip in frustration. What a big mess it all was! She couldn't go out and practice mind-reading, she couldn't grab an eraser and scrub Waichirou out of her thoughts... and she never DID get any strawberry cake!

The intercom attached to Erza's bare room wall sharply beeped just then, causing the spy to wince and lift a finger up to her hurting ear. A female voice was heard from the speaker, ordering Miss Scarlet to report to the MRSA front entrance.

Erza's heart skipped a beat, crimson hair draping over her shoulders as she steadily sat up.

H-has he come back...?

~~❤~~

Erza looked at her reflection in the spotless floor as she turned a corner. The front entrance was located just feet away....

There was no telling if you know who stood behind that door or not, but at this point she almost didn't care. She only hoped that whatever could be found on the other side would somehow put all her twisted thoughts at ease.

The door creaked open and Erza abruptly stopped, like someone had just slapped the pause button on a remote. Loud beating emitted from the spy's chest.
