The 10th of December
...
Rob's hungover, and not just from the alcohol. From her, and their almost-kiss. What Stephanie just told them doesn't make his head pound any less.
"What?!" Kristen asks, sounding slightly panicked.
"I know it wasn't originally planned," Steph says, looking between the two of them. "But with the chemistry you two have, it's inevitable."
Kristen looks skeptically at the director.
"But is it even true to the tone of the movie? To Daniel and Chloe?"
"It's different when you read it on paper. You can first know the tone of the movie when you see it played out. And the way you two have brought the story to life, the way you have given Daniel and Chloe's relationship that extra depth, it would not be true to the tone of the movie, to not have-"
"But a sex scene? Isn't some lustful glances and a heated dialogue enough?" Kristen interrupts Stephanie, desperate.
Rob decides to back her up.
"There are a lot of other ways to show that extra depth."
Stephanie looks at them.
"I honestly didn't think this was gonna be such a problem," she says, her voice calm and not laced with the slightest bit of anger or disappointment, only surprise. "You've both done lots of sex scenes, hell, you've even done sex scenes together. Do you really think it would suit the movie that bad?" She asks, starting to doubt herself slightly.
Rob and Kristen glance at each other out of the corner of their eyes.
"No," they say in unison.
"I think you're right," Kristen admits after a couple of seconds. "I guess Daniel and Chloe have gone so far now, that they can't go back. It would be weird if you didn't see them have sex, if you didn't see the "more" there is between them."
Rob glances at her, not sure if he should read something more into her words.
"Great," Stephanie says, smiling slightly. "I'm so glad you're willing to give the story that extra twist. I'm sure it'll be phenomenal. You'll get more details on the scene later today, and then we'll film it on Wednesday."
...
"Suzie, I can't do this anymore."
Kristen's holding her phone, her arm resting on the small table. She looks at the screen and sees Suzie's confused look.
"What are you talking about?" Her friend asks.
"The movie," Kristen explains. "I can't do it."
Suzie's look changes to one of concern.
"Why not? Is something wrong?"
Kristen sighs.
"It's just... Three days ago, I went on a date with someone from the cast. Lucy, is her name. We just went out and had dinner, but I'm pretty sure she saw it as a date."
Kristen looks at Suzie to see if she's listening, before she continues.
"It didn't go that well. She kept asking me about my exes, and she flirted with me, and that was okay, but she was just pretty forward. She took my hand and stroked my thigh under the table and stuff, and I-I just wasn't really... there, you know? She was beautiful and sweet, but she was just a little too eager, a little too fast. She kept whispering things in my ear, and if it'd been like, our sixth date, it would have been sweet, hot even, but I just felt like all I was to her was some orgasms. Even after I'd let her down gently, she kissed me, and it wasn't bad or anything, but it just felt so... wrong."
