Okay so here's super short, really bad shot that I wrote like a year ago. Enjoy.

"Why do I have to be sick? I hate it! I hate it so much! What did I ever do to deserve something like cancer?" Mitch sobbed into Scott's chest. He took a large, shuttering breath and wrapped his weak arms around Scott's body. "I'm scared Scotty, and tired. I can't take this anymore!" Scott just held him in his arms, rocking him gently. "Shh, it's okay Mitchie, we'll get through this together. No matter what happens, I'll be here by your side every step. I promise" He soothed. "Pinkie promise?" Mitch whispered, almost inaudible. "Pinkie promise" Scott said, and linked his pinkie with the smaller man's. He wiped a tear off of Mitch's face before kissing his forehead. Mitch began to calm down, leaning into Scott, completely exhausted. Everything seemed to tire him lately. "Go to sleep Mitchie, I'll be here when you wake up." Scott said quietly, helping him lay down. Secretly, Scott was terrified too, and worried every time Mitch closed his eyes that it would be the last time he would see the boy's beautiful brown eyes, but of course, Scott couldn't let Mitch know this. He just stayed quiet and prayed to God that Mitch would live another day. "Will you sing to me?" Mitch asked, rubbing the rest of the tears off his face. "Of course baby" Scott said, and began singing a song he had just finished writing.
'Close your eyes lay your head down,
now it's time to sleep.
May you find great adventure,
as you lie and dream.
If you're scared of the darkness,
I will calm your fear.
There's a light in the hallway,
So you know I'm here...'
Mitch's eyes began to droop as he listened to Scott's sweet voice singing a beautiful lullaby. The last lyric he heard before falling asleep somehow made him feel a strong sense of calmness, lulling him to sleep:
"For we all have our nightmares,
even me my dear."
