Hello! TwentyOnePiplups here, and I have completed another one-shot! I feel awful for not writing, like, ever, and I feel that Ron doesn't have enough stories about him and an OC, so here it is! I think this is better than my attempt at a Loki story, no? Haha, read on~
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or anything to do with it. If I did, I would find a different way to finish the story without a dead Snape... Or Fred... Or Tonks... Or Lupin........

"Two days. That's all I got, mate. How can I find a girl that desperate in two bloody days?" Ron muttered, twirling his quill around his fingers bitterly, his unseeing gaze upon his Divination papers.
"Dunno. Maybe you can ask a Patil," Harry said absentmindedly, making up another painful prediction and scribbling it onto his own parchment.
Ron groaned, slamming his face onto the table in front of him. "Not the Patils, anyone but the Patils," He grumbled.
"Just a thought," Harry said calmly, his eyes flickering to his distressed friend, "but if you don't ask someone soon you'll have to go with them,"
"Maybe I'll skip it. I should just skip it," He spat, his head hurting from the impact of the table.
"Can't do that; if I have to go so do you. Besides, if you end up going with them you can always just swap dance partners with someone else," Harry compromised.
"And be one of those sorry blokes who prance around awkwardly? I don't think so. I'll be at the library if you need me, staring at all the girls who already have a date," Ron said with that agitated tone to his voice that he always had.
"See you, then," Harry said, waving without looking up from his work, making Ron's frown only deepen. He would find a date, and it wasn't going to be a Patil.

Jae stomped her way from the Slytherin common room, worthless papers in hand. Her friends must really hate her. She was a Slytherin, but Potions just was not her forte. Everything about it made her want to either scream at the complexity of it all or cower at the slime of it. She wanted to give Snape a smack right upside the head for all of it, but since that would ultimately result in an immediate expulsion, she kept her instincts to herself and released her physical abuse upon her friends instead. They deserved it anyhow.
Aside from the help they failed to grant her for her O.W.L.s, the two people she decided so foolishly to dub "friends" kept nagging at Jae to get a date for the Yule Ball. Perhaps she wanted to stay in the common room that night instead of getting dragged around the dance floor with some desperate moron. Plus her dancing skills were below average, which was pretty bad considering Draco Malfoy was deemed average. She had seen him attempt to waltz once, and it was not pretty. She had no intention of even considering grabbing a date, but that was before her dimwitted accomplices forced her into swearing she would at least try. As if she didn't have enough on her plate already.
Turning into the library, she thrust a book at Madam Pince and scuttled over to a shelf in the back, where she knew the Potions books to be. Passing a snogging couple and intentionally bumping into them, she squeaked an insincere "Sorry," and hurried to the correct section. She glanced back down at her notes to check at the potion she would be writing an essay about, plucked the advanced knowledge book from the shelf and started to pace herself out. She reached the desk and checked her book out, ready to leave, but accidentally bumped into someone on her way to the door. Noticing who it was, her mind went blank and her jaw nearly went slack. She just ran into Ronald Weasley, her first childhood crush. She was immediately entranced by his adorably green eyes. No, Jae scolded herself mentally, he's a fourth year. Stop it. And so she muttered a "Sorry, excuse me," and shuffled her way past.
