Did it make it?

Of my six classes, I have the privilege of having two with Xaviar.  Not only is he in my AP English Language class but also in P.E. with me.  Luckily P.E., the class I am heading towards now, is the last period of the day.  As I enter the locker room, the smell of dirty gym socks and Justin Bieber's 'The Key' perfume fills my lungs.  Why anyone would spray perfume on when they're about to exercise beats me.  In my opinion it is a waste of perfume, which is why people invented deodorant! To temporarily take the place of perfume when exercising!  I weave through a group of girls towards my locker and swap my backpack for my gym clothes.  Hurriedly, I change and make my way towards the gym.  P.E. and I have a love-hate relationship.  I love sports so naturally I don't mind P.E., but P.E. hates me.  Somehow I am always "accidentally" tripped, pushed, or hit with a ball.

"Okay, gather round people!" My gym coach, Mr. Given, shouts while waving his arms. The other kids begin to swarm around Mr. Given waiting for him talk.  "Today we're going to play basketball.  Stand still while I separate you into teams." Mr. Given continues.  A murmur of groans escape my peers as I smile to myself.  I quite like basketball, but then again I quite like any sport.  As Mr. Given comes towards me he points towards the opposite hoop indicating my team.  I swiftly walk across the gym towards my team looking at who was on it.  Well would ya look at that! Xaviar is on my team! Besides him, the other three people I don't really know.  The coach blows his whistle, motioning for the players to meet at the center of the court for the toss.  I scan the other team looking at my competition; much to my demise Heidi is on their team. Yay.

There's less than a minute left until the bell would ring signaling the end of P.E.. The score is currently tied and we only need one more basket.  Xaviar is at the top of the key, skillfully dribbling the ball.  I'm on the right wing trying to get the attention of my team mate, who is at the bottom of the key, so they could set up a screen for me.  Finally, his head turns towards me and he sees my fist signaling for a screen.  As soon as he had ran up and set up a screen, I run towards the hoop yelling for Xaviar to pass me the ball.  He quickly realizes my plan and chest passes me the ball. I catch it and dribble until the point where I could take my 2.5 steps without dribbling that was allotted for lay ups. Just as I am going up, hurdling towards the hoop, and bringing the ball up, a hand pushes me past the hoop and towards the wall. Luckily the ball had just left my hand as I was pushed meaning I had a 50/50% change of it going in.  As I begin to fall down through the air towards the wall, my body flails. With a thud, my forehead hits the wall while my body crashes on the floor.

"Okay class! That's the end of the period!" Mr. Given shouts.  I let out a groan as I roll onto my gluteus maximus AKA my butt. Man that hurt more than I thought it would.  Swiftly, I bring my hand up, gliding it across my forehead to check for any bumps, which sadly there is one beginning to emerge on the middle of my forehead. Greeaaaat.

"Hey Hunter," a voice says from my right.  A smile emerged as I knew whose voice it is.

"Luke!" I shriek giving him a hug.  Luke also attends the Hokey Pokey Anonymous meetings. From his pretty boy looks you would never guess he's a delinquent, well except for his baggy clothes.  He's gay, but don't let that fool you, just yesterday he got out of juvie...again.

"So what did you do this time?" I sigh.

"I got caught stealing cigs and alcohol." He admits annoyed.  "I would have gone undetected had Damien not decided to grab a bag of noisy ass chips." He huffs glaring at his boyfriend who strolls up joining the conversation.
