Chapter One

As I got off my bed, I couldn't help the groan that escaped my mouth as the bright light pierce through the open curtains and into my eyes. I instantly regret forgetting to pull them shut the night before. The mornings are usually quiet, but this morning I heard cars driving back and forth in the driveway of my parents house.

I knew that it would soon be time for me to get ready for school and I had to get there early today.

I live in a sleepy little town named Shady Pines Valley in the rural area of Canada. I know, I know the name is quite silly but I guess it serves it's purpose because the town is in the middle of a valley. It is surrounded by a forest, with trees as far as the eyes could see.

While I went through my daily chore of getting ready for school, I couldn't help but think back to the most beautiful guy I'd ever seen. I know guys are supposed to be handsome not beautiful...but he is...

I had spotted him as soon as I had gotten out of my parents car on Saturday, when dad had taken us out to buy dinner. He had been standing in front of a massive McDonalds' sign, leaning up against a midnight blue BMW sports car. He had been standing there with two other guys and the four sexiest, most popular girls in school surrounding them. These girls were also the tormentors of the school...in other words they were petty bullies.

When I realized that I had been staring at them...well mostly him...I turned to look away, but he looked up and stared right at me. I stood still, unable to move as he held my gaze. It felt almost like he was looking deep into my soul and was seeing the real me.

My breath had caught in my throat as I tried to breathe. I felt a lump stuck at the back of my throat, preventing me from swallowing and a shiver of awareness raced down my spine.

I saw his eyes widen as if in realisation and I remembered thinking that, I couldn't help but wonder what the contents of his thoughts held. I couldn't believe the things that had happened between us in that one gaze...

As I changed into my jeans and a bright blue chiffon shirt, with a white tube top beneath it, I couldn't help but smile and blush a little. I quickly exited my bedroom and went down the wide hallways, and then down the two flight of stairs to meet my parents in our beautiful breakfast room.

"Good morning, honey. Why are you up so early and already dressed?" My mother asked me with a bright smile on her beautiful face.

"I have a project to do that I need to reached in school early to do." I answered as I returned her smile full force, but with a nervous hilt to it.

Before she had a chance to reply to my answer, I took an english muffin from the basket on the table and quickly kissed them goodbye as I hurried out of the room. I quickly walked towards the front door, but changed direction when I realized that I was empty handed, except for my muffin which I bit into, and that I didn't even have my car keys with me.

I hastily walked through the kitchen door and made a beeline towards my leather backpack and car keys, which was waiting for me on top of the kitchen counter. I smile to myself knowing that John had probably placed them there for me, knowing that I had forgotten them. I grabbed them in my free hand and headed out of the kitchen back door towards my parents huge garage. There were at least seventeen different cars in there, not including mines of course.

     I absolutely love my car!

I mean, most girls are into clothes and shoes, but just give me any kind of car and I'm sure I can drive it. My car is a Corvette GT.1 and I had gotten it on my seventeenth birthday this year, for doing extremely well in school and for keeping my grades up.
