Dixie's P.O.V.
Have I ever mentioned that I hate plane landings? Well I do, A LOT. The plane starts to rumble and decending in the sky. The pressure starts to decrease and I can feel the blood leaving my head. Then the worst part comes, touchdown. The plane rolls onto the tarmac below and comes to a gentle stop. Finally able to relax a bit. Releasing my grip, which I was unaware of having in the first place, there is a pale hand with slight nail marks, now turning red with it's blood flow back. I look up to see Blake shaking his hand out. "Damn girl, you must really hate landing or really want me to loose my hand. That's one strong grip you got there." Amazing, I just met Blake and almost break his hand. And now I'm talking to myself...
Everyone unbuckles and steps out of the very strange hot tub. I've got to figure out how this thing works. When everyone goes to the overhead compartment to get their carry ons, their luggage matches them perfectly. Dex's has a picture of his face on the front pocket, narcissistic, who couldn't have guessed that one. Wolf's had a dark grey and black pattern, Lilac has a light pink bag with flower patterns dotting it, Scar's has a leapard print bag which seems to fit her, and Trey has soccer patterns all over his. These people are so predictable. Just then, the overhead bin opens over my head and a duffle bag falls out, straight onto my head. "Where was the warning about things shifting during flight?" I didn't even try to hide the annoyance in my voice. Man, someone packed a lot of stuff in that bag, it hurt like hell. "Sorry, about that, Dix." With that charming of a voice, how could I stay mad at Blake, even with a splitting headache?
"Wow Dixie, two minutes in this country and you're already getting a concussion." Of course Sophia has something funny to say about this. Before I was able to make a smart comment back, I got cut off. "Maybe she shouldn't be opening or lifting things." I'm not a little pansy, a bumps not going to get me down, never has and never will. "I'm a tough cookie, I can handle myself."
Of course neither of them listened to me though. In five seconds flat, Sophia had my bag on top of her rolling purple suitcase and I was being ushered off the plane. I guess this is what it's like having friends that care about you, when you push them away they come back, that's a new one. I could actually start to get to like this, if only this trip didn't end in two weeks.
I hate getting off planes almost as much as I hate landings. At least I've got something to look forward to this time, unlike every other plane ride I've been stuck on. With ease we were out of the plane and onto the tarmac of a very interesting island place. Off in the distance you could see a beach with sparkling waters but no people. I didn't have much time to dwell since the next minute we were off to a large, grey, old fashion building; it seemed like a place too big to feel like a home, how could someone live in somewhere so large?
Inside was a grand entrance hall and a butler to show us through. He seemed like your stereotypical butler complete with neat grey hair and a suit. He spoke with a slightly raspy voice, "Your rooms are up this stair case, there is two to a room, no co-ed sharing." As he says this, he motions to the large double staircase in the center of the hall and glares everyone when he states the last part, does he really think we're that hormonal? It takes everything in me not to laugh. "Your host is currently busy but will meet you all at seven sharp for dinner." With his last words said, he walks out and we're free to go as we please.
"Dixie, you're with me!" It's a good thing I wore sneakers since an arm ran by and dragged me down the hall with it. The only thing other than footsteps I can hear is a deep voice calling behind us, "Don't break her, it's too early in the trip." The hall stopped rushing past me, a large double door stands in front of my insane friend and I. Through the grand entrance stands a room grander than any house I've ever stayed in, in my 16 years of living. Faded pink walls with cream trimmings and beautiful windows that went down to the floor. The beds were nicely made with diamond patterns on the bedspreads and fluffy off-weight pillows. It had everything, two wooden dressers, a closet bigger than all of my past rooms combined, it's own bathroom, even one of those fancy table things with it's own mirror to put make-up and stuff.
It's official now, I never want to leave. Sophia drops her luggage on the floor and starts unpacking, man she's efficient. "We'd better unpack and get ready for that dinner, it's a great chance to show the guys what they're missing." With a little wink, she's back to putting clothes in the dresser on the right side of the room. Might as well make myself at home as well, after all, this is our home for the next two weeks.
Three hours later, and I'm still finishing getting ready. Unpacking only took a few minutes, when you do it so often you get really good at it, it was actually getting ready that took 95% of my time up. It's hard to remember you have a time limit with that shower, the jets make every ache go away and that shampoo is the best smelling thing ever. It might have taken a while but I believe everything didn't turn out looking too bad. My simple sleeveless dress, dark grey, dress with a studded black belt and violet wave wrapping from the trip to the belt gave a hot vibe without showing. Dresses like that are really hard to find these days. A simple smoky eye with lip-gloss and wavy hair, the look was finally completed. Sophia's short hair was styled in an updo and had on a purple wrap around dress that showed off her curves. Not a bad look if I do say so myself.
Walking down the stairs, I looked down at my phone to see that it was 7:05; hopefully the host was getting to dinner a little late too. When we reached the door to the dinning hall, I went to reach for the handle but froze for a second. Come on Dixie, you've met new people before; I gave up impressing people years ago, so why is this so nerve racking? Just open the door! Great, now I'm talking to myself again. "Dix, are you ok? You look a little pale."
"Yeah Soph, I'm good, don't feel like meeting more people I guess."
"It'll be fine, everyone so far loves you, I'm sure the host will too."
"You're probably right, I'm stressing over nothing." With that, I take hold of the doorknob and turn it.
