My favourite male character is either Remus Lupin or Severus Snape. I can't choose between the two, I find it very difficult.
Remus is one of my favourites because he didn't have a perfect life, he was turned into a werewolf at a very young age for revenge of how his father talked about/treated those in the werewolf community. In school he didn't think anyone would associate with him for being a werewolf because of his up bringing, yet he made friends with James, Sirius and Peter. I like his character development throughout the books/movies.

Severus Snape is one of my favourites for practically the same reason as Remus, he didn't have a perfect up bringing. He lived in a poor area near Lily and Petunia's, he sadly got separated from his friend house wise and was surounded by most those who were probably apaled by Muggle born's. He chose a diffrent path from Lily for a while and I deeply believe he regreted his decision and in his own way helped Harry like Remus did. Again I Love the Character Development.
