What would happen if you were accepted to a school for high achievers, but you were average?
A long time ago, a school was created to teach children from around the world.  When the school was shut down due to lack of funding, the government decided to keep it open. But they made a couple of new rules,

     1. Every year you must accept 30 boys and 30 girls

     2. They must all be about to go into seventh grade

     3. The kids must be from all around the world

     4. You must transport the students at Memeford station, on the schools train

     5. The students get 2 months off in the summer

The school was named Memeford Academy.

This was Memeford's 60th year and all of the worlds twelve and thirteen year olds wanted to get in. Online, the list would be posted at 12:00 am on August 30th, and the train leaves on September 1st , at 12:00 pm.
These kids were specially selected for their special talents. Some were selected because they are fantastic athletes, have high academic scores and excel in the arts. Dawn Jones was none of these.

Hello, my name is Dawn Jones and I was accepted to Memeford Academy. I, personally,  have no idea why I was accepted and I have average grades in everything. Everyone in my family went to Memeford, even my grandfather. He was in the first group of kids ever to go to Memeford. So of course, I was forced to go. Of course I was happy, but completely shocked I got in.
When I got to the train station, I rushed to say goodbye to my family. All I wanted was a couple of months away from my family and I was late. As I hopped on to the train car, it started to move. "Yes!" I thought, " I didn't miss the train!" When I stopped cheering in my head, I realized that the nine other girls of the trains car were staring at me. I quickly walked to an open seat and sat down. I pulled out my laptop and started on my newest photo shop project.
30 minutes later, I was starting to get hungry, so I pulled out a small bag of chips that was in my backpack. And I was leaning back I noticed that the girl sitting across from me was staring at me. "Excuse me, but can you not stare at me?" I said. I had a thing about staring, it just creeps me out a lot.
"Sorry. It's just... You seem average, not special, at all." replied the girl, " I'm Cho, Cho Lee. I was excepted because I am a champion basketball player why were you excepted?"
"I don't know. Just like you said, I'm not special." I really hated when I talked about what I wasn't special at. It made me feel unwanted.
"Well, you will find your special talent, I know it."
"Thank you! Sorry I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Dawn Jones. Do you want to watch a movie in my laptop?"
" Sure! I love movies!" Cho answered, she jumped off her seat and sat down right beside me. I turned on a movie and before we knew it, it was 2:15. Then the train workers announced that we would be arriving at Memeford Academy in 5 minutes.
Cho and I got really excited. We may have even squealed one or twice. I quickly packed up my backpack and swung it on to my back and I held on to my large suitcases tightly. "Your hair is so cold!" Said Cho admiring my bright blue hair. "I wish my mom would let me dye my hair."
I liked Cho a lot, she seemed nice, but man does she talk a lot.
Soon the train stopped. Cho and I stepped off the train and put our suitcases on to the gurney. We looked up and saw the massive school, "WOW..." We both exclaimed.
"That's one large school for 360 students!" Cho declared. We walked up to the front doors of the school and a very old man greeted the 60 of us.
"Hello. I am your math teacher, Mr. Scwott. I will take you to the auditorium, where you will have the welcome ceremony."
"Cool!" I thought, "our own welcoming ceremony." Cho and I followed Mr. Scwott into the school and through the doors of the auditorium with the other 58 students. We sat in the back row away from the other students. After everyone had taken their seats, a woman in her mid 30's walked up on stage and said,
"Welcome everybody to your first year at Memeford Academy!" Everyone cheered, "I'm Miss. Cinder and I'm your principal. I will start by calling out the pairs of people who will be sharing dorm rooms,
First, Thomas Wang and Dov Cohens...
Fifteenth, George Whitworth and Chris McAllistar...
Twenty-eighth, Summer Alexander and Greta Schwarz...
Twenty-ninth, Paige Chang and Jane Sharp...
Thirtieth, Cho Lee and Dawn Jones..."
     "Yay!" Cho and I exclaimed.
