Harry Styles wasn't the type of person to break the rules. That's why, when Niall ran into their room demanding that they skip classes the next day, Harry had refused. Because, that was breaking the rules and he wanted nothing to do with it.
"No. no, no, no, no, no." Harry repeated the word over and over, as if it would make Niall drop the subject.
It didn't.
"Oh, come on Harry! It'll be fun! You remember what fun is, right?" Niall pleaded, while making the extra effort to tease his friend.
Harry just sighed, "Ni, I understand that you want to have fun, but this is school. It's important. Besides, I'm already doing poorly in half my classes. I can't afford to miss any work."
Niall could see that Harry had a good point, but he didn't care very much. So, giving up on his words to persuade his friend, he resorted to putting on his best "puppy face" while pouting his lips and making his blue eyes extra big. He knew that Harry couldn't resist the sad face, no matter how hard he tried.
Harry glared at Niall for a moment, attempting to stare the boy down, before giving up and looking at his shoes. Niall got on the floor and stared up at Harry, making him laugh a little. And then he caved.
"Alright, but just the morning classes. I absolutely can't miss any afternoon ones."
Niall grinned, jumping up from the floor and hugging the life out of Harry.
"Thank you Harry! Now lets go before you change your mind!"
Before Harry could protest, Niall was dragging him out the door to wherever he planned to go, laughing the whole way.

An hour later, Harry found himself aimlessly walking the streets of London with his best friend, and surprisingly enjoying every minute of it. At first he felt guilty, for ditching class, and wasting his parents money, even if it was only for a day. If anyone asked, he could simply say that he was sick, but even still he hated the idea of skipping.
After Niall had forced him to take a good look around them, though, Harry was almost grateful he'd left. London was beautiful, day and night. The atmosphere was entirely different on weekends than on weekdays, Harry noticed, as there were usually drunk college guys wandering around during days off. Today was quiet and peaceful, and Harry liked it.
After walking around for a bit, Niall declared he was hungry, and so the two boys went off and found a small cafe that seemed to serve good food. The smells coming from the tiny place were so intoxicating, Harry decided he was hungry too.
After ordering their food and finding a place to sit, Niall started to talk about football or something and Harry lost interest in the conversation. He was so busy pretending to pay attention that he didn't even notice Niall had changed the subject until the blonde was practically yelling at him from across the table.
Harry snapped back to reality and looked over at his friend. "Sorry, Ni. What were you saying?"
"I said, what's wrong with your phone?"
Harry glanced down at his cell phone to see that the screen was acting strange, again. The light was flickering and the brightness kept changing on its own from light to dark, over and over. He sighed, annoyed, and shoved the dumb thing into his pocket.
"Ever since I trusted you to go get it fixed, it's been doing weird things like that. Who did you take it to, some guy in a van?" Harry asked accusingly, staring at Niall.
Niall's face turned red and he shook his head, mumbling something along the lines of "I thought it was a good idea.." Harry let the conversation stop there, not really caring about it.
He proceeded to go back to eating again, until he looked up and saw someone walking through the door. The same someone he'd been thinking about for the past few days. Harry almost choked on his food, causing Niall to look up, worried.
Harry drank half his water in a second and stared at the back of the man who'd just walked in, wondering just how was he this lucky? Of all the places in London...
"Harry, what is it?" Niall questioned, staring at his friend in confusion.
For some reason, the man at the counter turned around at that moment, catching Harry's gaze. His eyes widened momentarily before he whipped back around and stared at the cashier. The black-haired boy who had apparently been standing next to him the whole time, unnoticed by Harry, noted his friends sudden change in emotion.
"Louis, are you okay?" The boy questioned, concern evident in his voice. Lou turned to him, blinking a few times before nodding.
"Uh, yeah...yeah."
Harry watched the scene take place from his table, wanting to get up and say something, anything, but he was too nervous. And Louis, as he had now learned was actually the man's name, didn't seem too fond of Harry. He even seemed scared. And Harry wanted to know why.
He took his eyes away from Louis, looking over at Niall for a moment. He needed advice, and fast. But Niall was too busy staring at something to pay attention to him, and when Harry turned to see what that was, he realized it was Louis' friend.
Harry couldn't help but laugh, earning him another annoyed look from Louis. This shut him up, but it didn't stop him from pulling Niall up from his seat and practically dragging him over to the two.
Niall protested, but Harry was stronger than him and it was useless. Harry went up and tapped the dark haired boy on the shoulder, and Louis gave him a confused look, still not saying a word. He only turned from the scene for a moment to pay for his coffee, and immediately looked back to see what Harry was up to.
Zayn turned around and smiled at Harry, "Hey you're the kid from the bar-" He started, but Harry interrupted him by pushing Niall in front. Niall blushed and waved sheepishly, while Zayn stared at him in awe.
"I-i'm Niall.."
"Zayn." The boy answered, sticking his hand out.
Harry decided to leave the two alone, since he would now be able to focus on Louis with no interruptions. He turned happily to face Louis, only to find the man was looking in the other direction.
Harry frowned, tapping Louis on the shoulder to get his attention. "Excuse me?"
Louis finally turned around, mentally cursing to himself as he did it, coming face to face with the boy he was supposed to kill.
Harry was taken aback by Louis' piercing blue eyes, which were even brighter up close.
"Look, I'm sorry about anything I did before. I didn't mean to make you mad or anything..." He trailed off, almost getting lost in Louis' amazing eyes.
Louis gave him another confused look. "I'm not mad at you."
Harry smiled, glad he had been wrong about Lou's feelings toward him. He still didn't understand why Louis was acting the way he was, but that didn't matter.
Louis nodded at the boy, finding it very hard to believe the kid in front of him could be capable of trying to outsmart the government. So, he got an idea. He had vowed to himself that he would prove Harry's innocence, and that was just what he was going to do.
Louis smiled back at the boy, extending his hand out for him. "I'm sorry about how I've been acting around you. I'm Louis. Louis Tomlinson."
