Capri Garcia
"Hall H102. I can tell we're going to see each other very often" Jason said with a smirk on his face.
"What? Are you some kind of stalker?" I giggled.
"You're beautiful princess but I stay next door" he chuckled and pointed at his room, number 48.
"Oh..." I said and turned away to hide my blush.
"Don't hide your blush, it's cute" he said and placed his fingers under my chin to face him.
"Okay McCann, hands off. I should settle in"
"Wow, we have almost every class together. I didn't know you took Science" he told me while he looked at my schedule.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I fake gasped and grabbed the paper from his hands.
"I mean, you look way too smart for something like that"
"Well, thank you. I'll say you take Science"
"Unfortunately. I mean Chemistry, Biology and Physics are the most boring subjects I've ever taken in my life. I don't even want it"
"Then why did you take it?"
"You see, it's not a matter of want, it's a matter of need"
"Huh?"
"Forget I said that. You should go and get some rest"
"Yeah, I think I'll do that. Thank you so much Jason"
"Don't mention it. It was nice meeting you" he flashed a smile and stuck out his hand for shake.
"Sorry, but I'm a hugger" I giggled and launched at him for a hug.
Seriously, I am a hugger. Not that I find Jason totally hot.
"Alright Ms. Hugger, off you go" Jason chuckled and pulled away. He opened the door to my room and kept all my bags in.
"It was nice meeting you" I smiled and shut the door close.
Jason McCann
Once Capri was out of sight, I let out a relieved sigh and went to my room. I shut the door and threw the keys on my messy study table. I kicked off my shoes and laid down on the bed. I stared at the plain white ceiling while silence filled the room yet a train of thoughts flooding my head.
Capri Garcia. She was great, really beautiful and she looked like a really smart person. I could see she was what people described as a 'Golden Girl'. I'm not a person to judge but some how I know people's personalities from the first time I see them.
Capri was a cute girl but I don't think I'm the type of guy she'd like to hang out with.
My phone rang out of the blue and 'Alex' appeared on the screen of my phone. I answered the phone grudgingly.
"Hello" I said in a monotone.
"How's my little bro doing?"
"Good"
"You settled in?"
"Hours ago"
"Any new people?"
"No..." I lied.
"Look, if you're not interested in talking to me just drop the phone" Alex growled.
"Why did you even call?"
"I'm your big brother. I'm supposed to be repsonsible for you"
"Oh yeah? Dragging your little brother to shit you miggle with isn't exactly termed as responsible"
"Don't talk to me like that!"
"Whatever Alex. I'm settled, I'm fine and I'm definitely fine without you"
"You can't exactly escape, you do know that right? I don't want this life for you but we don't have a choice. You can't run from Brian and you know that. Sending you to that stupid boarding school was the only way I could think of"
"Aren't you tired of telling me this whole speech all over again because I certainly am I tired of hearing it over a thousand times. I'll see you around" I said and hung up.
And there you have it. That's my life. I'm a teenager who has an older brother named Alex McCann, the only family I have left. Our mom ended up killing herself because our dad left her for some other woman. We were street kids for a few years until he got involved in one of the biggest gangs in Las Vegas. He was desperate and he was tired of stealing from people just to keep the both of us alive. They trained Alex at the age of twelve and from then on, there was no going back.
I was about ten when that happened. I was still young so they decided till I was Alex's age to do their work. I was taught to make bombs, use the gun, blow up places and worst...kill people. The gang's leader was Brian.
He was a thirty year old windowed man. His wife and child died a couple of years ago by the Las Vegas police . They were framed by someone who hated him and the police went after his family and killed them. From then on, all Brian's goal was to have the whole Las Vegas Police Department killed. Brian had his group going on for years now so escaping or at least trying to escape from him was the most impossible thing to do. One mistake and get shot for it. Brian wouldn't actually kill you but he'd make sure you would suffer excruciating pain to learn your lesson.
I didn't want this knid of lifestyle but Alex couldn't abandon me and as much as a dick my brother was, I still love him and like I've said before, there was no going back.
Everytime we were on a mission and I was made to do something, Alex always had my back and made sure I wasn't caught.
Being in one of the biggest gangs should make me most wanted and popular by now right? Wrong. I was the guy who did the work behind walls in the group. I was the youngest, the fastest and definitely the smartest. That's why Brian made sure I wasn't much known to anyone.
What people knew around Brookhaven, I was bad news. I was someone you shouldn't be with. Shit rumors went around I was the cause of my parents death. They tried saving me and that was why they died. Gosh, they're such dumbasses.
I'm Jason McCann and I'm a criminal. Capri Garcia was the perfect girl and one thing I know, even if I'm attracted to her, if she wants to live a longer life, I suggest she should stay away from me.
