Paws slammed against a snowy terrain, a pitch black wolf with glowing yellow eyes ran throughout the forest, It looked determined. The moon glow above, casting the silver glow on the dark forest, as If guiding the wolf somewhere. Trees whizzed by as the wolf jumped upon a fallen log, climbing It, the wolf now ran on the thick branches of the forests' pine trees, leaping from tree to tree, the wolf's mouth was slightly agape. It halted on the branch of a tree on the borderline of a small clearing, below stood two wolves, A ashen brown one, and a muddy white wolf. The muddy white wolf held something In It's jaws, and the wolf above In the shadows looked angered by this, the little grey figure that was limp In the muddy white wolf's jaws was bleeding... This angered the wolf above more, launching It's self out of the tree, It landed on the Ashen brown wolf, knocking It down. The black wolf tore at the Ashen brown one, a sickening snap was heard, echoing off the trees and back, the wolf below the black one had gone limp, the light In It's eyes... gone... A snarl broke out, breaking the deafening silence, the muddy white wolf dropped the grey, bleeding, lump, turned tail and ran. The black wolf's expression changed drastically, It padded up to the grey lump, curling around It. The grey lump turned out to be a pup, the wolf positioned the pup between It's front paws, It's head resting on It's left paw, and the right paw over It's body. Tears streamed down the black wolf's muzzle, matting It's fur to It's face. It's yellow eyes closed as It continued to cry. "M~Mommy...?" A weak voice broke the silence, the black wolf's eyes opened, looking down at the pup, It nuzzled It. "Why a are you crying, Mommy...?" It whispered out In a raspy voice. "You know that I Iove you, right?.." Came the slow reply of the black wolf, the pup nodded. "Please, don't cry mommy... I'll be alright..." The grey pup whimpered out, causing more tears to stream down the mother wolf's muzzle. "I'll be alright, I promise... I.. I love... you..." The pups voice trailed off, the color leaving It's eyes, It's breathing halted, and It's frame went limp...
A howl echoed off the trees and mountains around, echoing back and forth. A howl of despair, a way for the mother wolf to scream out In denial of her pups death...
A mother losing her child, the worst feeling of all...
The earth losing another living being, Is just another pebble lost In the water...
But that pebble with never be lost to a few....
For they will always remember that lost pebble...
