I can't tell him I love him. It's going to ruin our friendship, I think to myself. The bell rings and all of the kids rush out of the classrooms. He sees me and runs to me with a wide smile. I close my locker and smile back.

"Hey, Crybaby!" He says, giving me a quick hug.

"Hey. I just saw you two periods ago. Why are you so excited?" I say, raising my eyebrow.

"I know I saw you two periods ago," he says looking down, still smiling, "but I still missed my best friend."

I punch him playfully and giggle as we walk out of school together. I was in deep thought when he started to speak,

"Are you okay?"

"What?" I asked, snapping back to reality.

"I asked if you were okay."

"Oh," I say before smiling, "I was just thinking. It's nothing."

He nods and we keep walking. Should I tell him? No, no...don't be stupid! We make it to my house and we both stop. He smiles and goes in for a hug. I stop him and say,

"I...I-I have to t-tell you something. Something that you should k-know." He only nods.

"I...um, I think I love you."

His eyes widen a little bit and he just stares at me. This is what I was afraid of...I shouldn't have told him! I look down and a feel a hand on my cheek. It slowly moves down to my chin. He uses two fingers to lift my head back up to him.

"Are you being serious?" He questions me with a serious look on his face.

I only nod and look back down. What happened next completely changed my life. Our friendship had just died.
