A second, a minute, turning into an hour. He waited for her to return.
She wanted to take a walk among the cherry blossom trees. She wanted to feel the wind, have the petals fall into her hair.
Taehyung let her be by herself, knowing she liked her space. So, he stayed behind and waited alone in a tree for her.
The sun started to set, the light casting a pale orange glow to the flowers. He wasn't worried by her absence She often left for long periods of time, this proving to be no different.
Her mind, her being, never seemed to be fully focused on Taehyung. At least not in the way he paid so much attention to her.
But that wasn't her fault.
He knew she was a free spirit, that she often wandered, figuratively and literally. But that didn't stop him from wishing she could just reach her hand out to him.
She had finally returned from her walk, climbing into the tree Taehyung was hiding away in, sitting next to him. She gave him a bright smile, looking away before he could return it.
He sighed, feeling more than heartbroken.
He wanted to connect with her, to feel the same amount of love from her that he gave to her.
That was impossible though, they would always be a world apart.
Because he was the sun, and she was his moon.
