Chapter Five~

Chasing Derek out onto the street wasn't the most graceful thing I ever done, considering I almost tripped over stones a couple of times.

"Derek! What the hell are you doing?" I grabbed his arm, and forced him to stop walking. I was pretty strong when I needed to be, thank god.

I guess he was pretty anxious because of the "incident" that happened years ago... I was too at the beginning, but I'm trying to look past it. I don't want to focus or be scared of the past. I just wanted to look past it, to move on. That's what he hates about me. He doesn't like the fact that I want to move on, to look past the past. He wants me to be more cautions, less reckless, with my actions because of where the past led us, but I don't want to. I don't want this.

"Did you hear me? I'm going after him! Maybe if you weren't so reckless we wouldn't be in this situation at all! You do know that they could possibly find us now, right?" He shouted, balling his fist and gritting his teeth.

I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and narrowed my eyes slowly. "How am I reckless when every time I'm walking home there's no one behind me! Even when I feel eyes boring into my back, there's no one there! So don't you dare tell me that I'm reckless! It shouldn't... it shouldn't even matter to you anyway! All your lazy ass does nowadays is sleep!"

At that moment I could have punched a wall... or Derek in particular.

He just stood looking at me with his eyes wide. Shaking his head he said, "We need to find this person. They could be a great danger to us, don't you realize that?"

After arguing with Derek with what felt like the rest of the night, we reluctantly came to a plan. And so far it wasn't going so well.

The next morning, Derek walked into school and immediately all eyes were on us... well him more likely.

Oh lord, please give me strength.
