Rain paced his room again and again and again. If getting presents was this hard, why bother. But no this bothered Rain very much more than anything.
Malcolm didn't seem worried or bothered by the fact there's four days until Christmas. It's pretty strange but never mind that. Back to the point that Rain isn't prepared!
" U-Uh Malcolm! " Rain puts on his hoodie while yelling through the wall " I'm going out for a bit, be back later! " He grabs his phone in a hurry.
" Ok! See you later " Malcolm yells back as he came out his room, sees the front door wide open and chuckles a bit.

Rain walks down the block, rubbing his freezing hands together. The cold bothered him more than his thoughts of what to get for Malcolm.
Four days means slightly enough time to choose something ok, not the best, but at least ok to give as a gift.
$20 is all he had. Not much but should be enough to get Malcolm something. Rain looked through each store that was on the block.
There he found the ok gift and asked for it to be wrapped up.

ain smiled big all the way back to the apartment. Then his smile faded quickly as he sees Malcolm.
Malcolm, coming out the apartment, with a guy.
Rain couldn't see the guy's face with the hoodie he was wearing blocked a glimpse of his face.
Rain just watched from the corner of the building. He couldn't clearly hear what the heck they were saying to each other at all.

" Thanks again for helping me " Malcolm smiled " I really needed help with that "
" No problem it was no trouble " The guy left, waving back at Malcolm.
Once the guy was gone, Malcolm saw Rain coming back from where he went.

" Ah hey Rain! I see that you're back " Malcolm smiled.
Rain hid away the gift deep into his jacket. " Mhm I'm back... "
" Did you get what you needed? "
" Nah... I couldn't find it maybe later... "
" Oh.. Ok let's get inside " Malcolm heads in and Rain follows.

Dead silence took place after dinner that night. Malcolm didn't know how to bring up a conversation. Rain definitely didn't want to though. But did anyways.
" So... I noticed you're not making as much as usual " Rain denied the eye contact, knowing Malcolm looked right at him while he was looking way " I asked your boss and he said your getting the same amount that you should be getting... So where's the rest? "
" I've been saving that for Rainy days just in case "
" Oh? Then who was that guy who came and was inside the apartment? "
" .... "
" Yes I saw you both coming out the apartment, I'm dumb " Rain looked at Malcolm with no expression showing.
" Rain listen I- "
" I can't be trusted with what's going on anymore is that it? " Rain got up.
" No Rain that's not it don't get the wrong idea- "
" I think I have a good damn idea of what's going on " Rain walked off to his room and all that was heard was loud slam of a door.
Malcolm sighed " He seriously has the wrong idea " He quietly says.
