Polly had known all along that Tommy had feelings for cat, but she knew he'd eventually realize without her interference. Now all she could hope for was that he'd have the balls to actually tell Catherine, or she would.
"Alright Thomas, when are you going to tell the girl?" Tommy raised an eyebrow at his aunt from the bench he was perched on in the kitchen "today" and with that simple answer he left the house with a very shocked Polly Gray standing almost stuck to the ground.

As he walked towards the street Catherine lived on he couldn't help but over think the whole situation, "what if she laughs," "what will I do if she never wants to speak to me again," "what if" he was cut off by a small rock hitting the side of his head "what the fuck" as he slowly turned around he saw a grinning Catherine watching him from the field wall "oi and what do you think your playing at? Huh throwing something at a Shelby" cat giggled "a Shelby? Never heard of them" Thomas smiled as he watched the wild girl he'd fallen so madly in love with jump off the wall. Dusting off her dress and pulling her hair back she finally looked up at Thomas "so what are we doing today?" Taking hold of her arm he began pulling her towards the field "let's take a walk" Catherine grinned and began ranting on about how she hated the color black, completely oblivious to the fact that a certain Thomas Shelby was about to confess his love for her.

"Do you think it's bad that I'm older than you?" Catherine stopped making her daisy chain and glanced up at the handsome Shelby in front of her "no, why would it be bad? Your one of the only people I trust round here" Tommy smiled and moved closer to cat taking the daisy chain from her hands "oi, I'm making that for Pol" he chuckled as he placed the flowers beside him "I'm not gonna do anything with them, I just wanna talk to you" "we were talking Thomas, now give it back" Catherine began to crawl towards the flowers but before she could reach them Tommy pulled her to her feet and pulled her close "Catherine Martin, I am in love with you" Catherine felt like the wind had been knocked out of her as she looked up at the blue eyed man in front of her, "I know I'm older than you and your father might not approve, but Cat I'd really love to be able to call you my girl" he stroked her cheek as Catherine slowly began to smile, "I like the sound of that" she whispered before wrapping her arms around him in a warm embrace. Thomas pulled back and smiled widely "My girl."
