Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
I opened my eyes, then quickly shut them as the bright light flooded my eyesight. I slowly opened them a gain and looked up. All feeling in my limbs instantly hit me like a freight train. I let out a loud gasped. I sit up looking for where the majority of the pain was. My leg was in a cast. There was a button to me left with a the word 'Nurse' written under it. I pressed it with little strength I had. Instantly a woman wearing a light blue nurse outfit and holding a clipboard came into the room.
"How are you feeling." She asked.
I tried responding, but i couldn't. I had my mouth opened but no words came out. She looked at me confused then got a look of realization and gave me a glass of water. I took the glass and chugged the water down, not caring if there was water dripping down my face. She stared curiously. I handed her back the glass and wiped my face with the hospital gown i was in.
"It only hurts a little bit in my leg," I answered her question.
"Ok anywhere else." She asked. I shook my head 'no'.
" I am starving though, and have a lot of questions." I stated
"Ok I'll be back with some pain killers and your food." She said and walked out of the room. A couple minutes passed by before she walked in carrying a tray, with 5 people trailing behind her. The woman surged forward a little before the young looking male grabbed her arm. She turned her head, her dark hair swishing as she looked back at him. He gave her a warning look. I looked at the nurse with a questioning look. She sighed and set down the tray on my lap. I nodded my head as in to say thank you. I looked down at the food. Gosh I'm so hungry. I dug into the chicken noodle soup. Oh that was good. I hungrily dipped in my spoon for more. I got the sourdough bread and spread the creamy butter on it and shoved it into my mouth. Zi realized that the people were looking at me with sadness. I looked to the nurse. I beckoned for her to come over to to me. She leaned down.
"Who are they?" I asked in a whisper. She looked at them and then back at me. She straightened up.
"I need to get the doctor. I will be right back," the nurse said looking at me, then she turned to the group of people, "don't do anything rash." She finished talking and left the room. The only familiar face left and I was left with total strangers. A boy, who looked 17 or 18, stepped forward.
"Do u know who I am?" He asked.
"Are you my brother?" I responded back with a question. He lightly chuckled
"No I'm your loving Boyfriend." He responded
"Oh." I said, my cheeks going up in flames
"May I sit next to you?" He asked me. I was hesitant at first, not my head.
A look of relief passed through his face. He moved closer and sat on my bed. Looking over at me he asked,
"Is there anything you want to ask me?"
"Ummmmm.......... What am doing here?"
"You were in a car crash." he looked down
"Oh, was there anyone with me?"
"No." He said with a straight face, A sob erupted from the group of people still waiting by the door. A door opened and in came a man with a white coat. You could see the gray hairs scattered around in his hair. He grabbed the clipboard at the front of the my bed. He looked at me.
"Can you tell me your name?" He asked politely. I racked my brain trying to find it. Carly! Umm last name. I scrunched my nose. I just don't know. I looked up at the doctor."Ummm Carly?" I guessed. A look of concern spread over 3 the doctor's face.
"Do you know your last name?" He asked slowly. I shook my head no. I looked at my lap and twiddle my thumbs. A hand laid on my arm. I looked up to see Luke smiling sadly at me.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hunter, may I talk to you outside please?"
The couple left the room. I was left with Luke and two teenage girls. One had dark brown, straight hair, and dark brown eyes. She was about 5 foot 3. The other girl standing next to her has blonde hair with a blue streak.
