CHAPTER 1 - THE YELLOW JELLYBEAN

Maya's POV

After Lucas went to tell Riley his feelings for her - like I said him to - Josh sat next to me and, it may seem selfish, but I saw him as an opportunity to forget Lucas. I liked him first, right? It must be easy. We talked and were holding hands the entire time, he told me I was an amazing friend for trying to protect Riley pretending I liked Lucas, but I knew it wasn't true.

After Josh went to his room, I started to watch the fire, and I remembered the night when I first admitted to Lucas I liked him in a different way, I remembered every single detail, and then I thought about how I knew Riley for a very longer time and how I loved that goofy little weirdo more than anything, and how I wanted her happiness even more than my own.

I felt a body next to me, it was Farkle, he was looking at me with intrigued look.

_You still care about him, don't you?

_Yes, I care about him, just like I care about you, and Riley...

He interrupted me.

_You know you're lying.

_I care about Lucas, Farkle, and this is why I want him to be happy.

_The three of you are so complicated.

_I know, but let's keep this to ourselves, I don't want things the way they were. That triangle wasn't good for anybody.

_I care about us all very much, Maya, and I don't want to see you sad.

Our conversation was interrupted when Riley came, and dragged me to our "Ski Lodge Bay Window" which was in our room - coincidentally.

_So... You and Lucas - I said.

_Yes, my first boyfriend. You and Josh?

_Someday... Who knows? Who knows anything?

_I know. I know that, if you're lucky in this life, you get an extraordinary relationship. My mother and my father met each other very early and stayed together for the rest of their lives. Our first boyfriends, Maya. Who knows how long that's going to last? We're going to meet new people all of the time. But, if there's one thing I know for sure in my life, it's that you are my extraordinary relationship, Maya. Thunder - She said and raised her hand.

_Lighting - I said and held her hand.

Lucas came to the door and he was half inside the room and half behind the door.

_Hey guys, we're having kind of a reunion downstairs because is our last day here, you should come.

_ Wait a minute Huckleberry, we are having a moment here.

He laughed, I loved when I made him laugh.

The door closed.

We stayed in silence for a while.

_I think we should go - Riley said.

_Go, I need to do something first, meet you there.

_Okay peaches.

She got out and I could nothing but cry, I was so confused, there was Lucas, and Josh, and Riley, and I didn't even know anymore who I was. I think I'm broken again.

I washed my face and waited a little until it got cold, because my face was too blushed, and I didn't want anyone to notice I had cried.

I went downstairs and everybody was sat there. The only empty place was next to Lucas - you've got to be kidding me!

I sat next to him and feel the warmth of his body was good, and bad too.

_Guys - Josh started to say - I have an idea, we can play... Truth or dare.

Oh dear, don't do this.

Everybody agreed with him, we would play with no bottles, one person started and asked whatever it wanted for whoever it wanted.

_I start - Josh said - I'm gonna start with... Maya.

Really Boing?

_Maya, have you ever kissed?

You know Boing? I'm starting to hate you a little right now.

I haven't kissed, and I didn't care about this, I didn't care about what everyone thought of me, just didn't want to expose myself for strangers... But what could I do?

_No... I haven't.

Everybody just looked at me, including Lucas, and I couldn't avoid looking at him too, I lost myself for a while but then I woke up.

_So - I kinda screamed - It's my turn. I choose Farkle.

I didn't have too much ideas so I just decided to have fun.

_Farkle, why haven't you already searched about Belgium 1831?

He, Riley, Lucas and our class from middle school started to laugh, the rest of the people didn't understand the situation.

_In fact I searched about it, but I'm really excited to see what lesson Mr. Matthews will include in this one.

Everybody started to laugh again, now I'm the one who's curious about Belgium 1831.

_Ok, my turn...Lucas, truth or dare?

_Truth.

_That night, in the bay window, when Riley and Maya traveled to Upstate. Who had you chosen?

_Dare!

_Too late bro, this is against the rules - Josh said.

_ I don't wanna answer.

Riley started to make that face of when she was mistrustful.

_Come on Lucas, answer - Zay said.

_I'd chosen... - he didn't say anything, just took a yellow jellybean from his jacket pocket.

I didn't understand it, but Riley, Farkle and Zay did.

_Maya, why did you poured that smoothie in my head?

And then it became a mess. Riley looked disappointed, Farkle almost regretted, Zay chocked but not really surprised and I didn't wanna answer.

_I'm out - I said and just got out.
